  • G20 summit violent protest could dampen the pride events of toronto

Anarchy and chaos in this city could dampen next week PRIDE festivities which would actually start tomorrow. The city is in a complete disorder as violent protest erupted.

It could also prevent people who are planning to come down to 'Toronto The Good' which right now is in a total lockdown, thanks Stephen!, now it would be put on the shoulder of the Pride organizers the task of rebuilding the city for next week, to prove to the world that Toronto can host a peaceful way of demonstrating our differences of opinions in politics and personal convictions.

Darn! they got to replace all those smashed windows soon, especially my favorite Tim Horton's spots in downtown area. If your a Starbucks fan, you're out of luck! it seems it's the least favorite of this violent protesters.

    Peace!!!

that's why I am in Ottawa right now,my clients who are related to government advised me better to be out f town because of the G20. I am glad that I listened their advise.
Ottawa is amazing and peacefull.the only problem is I am at the same hotel where president of china stays as well.... security is crazy and annoying here...

You're very smart in heeding their advice as it's really a total mayhem in the downtown area.

For now, only a devoted tgirl lover would not heed advice and still go downtown Toronto to meet a tgirl, especially if that girl is as hot and sexy as you! heck! even a BIG earthquake could not make them to cancel their appointment with you.

I can only imagine how many cancellations are there today in Toronto and how many wished that they're out of town too like lucy.

Darn Lucy! how much more lucky can you get .

It's all your own fault for living in Toronto.

There are so many other great places to live.

Unfortunately most other places in Canada a Gay pride celebration meets violent protest.

          Can't win for trying.

Maybe they should set up a fucking permanent office for the G8 and G20.
Possibly put up a PERMANENT fence?
Unfortunately I am ahead of my time as always

The Pride event has shot itself in the foot by getting into Middle East politics. It's a no-win and the potential for violence is there.

The crazies seem to have intimdated the management. I think at the very least they will lose public support and they should certainly lose public funding. It's a successful festival (or has been) and should be self-sustaining.

The trans March is on July2 at 7 p.m.although I don't see it advertised very much.

Tianamen Square, China 1989. Yep that was a pretty bloody riot. But we all know that is it just a small bunch of malcontents and shit disturbers that is doing this. Some of which are foreign nationals. I don't think that it is you typical Canadian smashing store fronts. They even smashed a Timmies, that's outright TREASON! I can hear Lisa loading her shotgun right now and muttering "Don't you dare touch my Timmies".

I live right beside Queen's Park and had a ringside seat from the 9th floor. The march started as a peaceful protest and then they were hijacked by a group of well trained and organized thugs who were equipped with brand new masonry hammers. They call themselves the "black bloc" not for ethnic reasons, but because they wear all black. After they ran amok they melted into the crowd and changed clothes.
These people are not protesters, they are thugs.
The police were very restrained and professional thankfully, or it could have ended very badly.
Now we have to rebuild our fine city and work towards voting out this narcissist who is responsible. Please Liberal Party, get your act together and defeat this sham of a government.
