I'll agree with many people here, you can't compromise on what you want. However you may find out what you thought you wanted wasnt what you actually wanted. You need to listen to your heart and go after what you want.
As to the sex industry part, not all tgirls are escorts. However the ones that aren't generally don't advertise that they are tgirls. Thus since guys like me who want to date a tgirl can't find these tgirls to date and we all end up being alone.
I did go on a date with a tgirl who works as an escort. Unfortunately the fact that she's having intimate encounters (not always sex) with other guys is something I can't handle. It was ok for a single date, but not ideal for me in a relationship. It also didn't help that she had to cut our date short to see a client. *sigh*

Given my own experiences in the hetero world, the finding of someone who is not only is attractive to you sexually, but is also someone whom you wish to spend time with outside of the bedroom is a difficult proposition , at best.

One can go through dozens of partners, rarely finding that exact person who fulfills your every desire.

So my question to the girls is: Given the extremely small population base you have to choose from, seeing as men who wish to be with a shemale/transexual/ladyboy (whatever term u wish to use) are a rare item in the conventional world,
do you ever feel that you will never meet that one man, who loves you as you are, who wants you in and out of bed, in every aspect of life?
