Ya man, it will be defiantly one of the best vacations. I am sure we would have lots of fun checking out girls around. I was thinking for longest time to visit Thailand. After Amsterdam I really wanted to check out Pattaya?s the world?s largest red light district area.

As far as I remember it was costing $2200 in June month so I am sure it will be blasting right now since its vacation time. Crag can you let us know what is the bottom line?

On Air Canada I was seeing Economy flights for about $1600 plus taxes and fees. However getting the full flight through Air Canada does not offer many options. Most of the flights to Bangkok go through Japan, whichi i hate.
The easiest way to get to Bangkok is through Hong Kong.
I am going to thailand next week and bought a ticket on Air Canada to Hong Kong then bought a separate ticket on Thai air from Hong Kong to Bangkok for $350.
Flights were cheaper but I think the recent political troubles have really cut down tourism in Thailand, so prices are up now.

You should join Aeroplan before you fly because it is about 17,000 miles round trip which will get you a free flight within Canada.
I have Elite status with aeroplan which gets me free access to airport lounges and free upgrades to first class, with lie down suites.
If you gather 35,000 aeroplan miles in one year you get elite status.
I would recommend buying airline lounge access for your layovers as you get free food, drinks, showers, internet etc.

On average I would say the hotels would cost about $800 for 10 days if splt between Bangkok and Pattaya.

The transportation and stuff I will have to put together a price.

In General things cost about 25% of what they cost in Canada.
A bottle of heineken at a bar is $1 - $1.50.
Cigarettes are $1 per pack.
You can get a good meal starting at $5 and full 1 hour thai massages are about $10.

I think a winter - spring trip is the best since it is so hot over there.
No specific plans but march - may dates might work.

I'd say for a 10 day trip:
-$2000 for economy airfare return. (give or take but usually less)
-$1000 for hotels for 10 days all included.
-$300 for Tranportation. (to and from airport, to tourist spots, to bars etc.)
-Maybe an extra fee for any private parties.

You would be responsible to budget for your own personal expenses.
Food $20 per day you can eat great.
Drinks and beer average $1.50 and smokes are $1 per pak.
Ladyboys $150 per day, plus bar fines if applicable.
Real thai massages are $10 per hour.
Shopping is sick and cheap in Bangkok, you may want to buy lots of stuff, especially clothes.
Then just some extra money for tours, and other various expenses.

I am not looking to profit from this but only pay my expenses for the trip through some type of package.

This sounds like an opportunity TOO GOOD to pass up so until I know all the details, I am very interested. On a personal note, I have never met Crag but have exchanged a few emails with him. Between this forum, SMC and now possibly this trip, Crag you are one hell of a guy. It would depend on final dates and expense estimates (which are extremely reasonable so far!), but this sounds like an amazing idea. I went to China a few years ago, and kicked myself afterwards that I didn't go to Thailand at the same time.
