"The Asteroid That Could End The World In The Year 2182"

I logged onto yahoo.com, and this news report poped up about the world could possibly end by an asteroid in the year 2182" Well we don't have to worry, cause we won't be alive by then. Anyways i'm curious, how do u think the world will end one day? Will Aliens will take over and kill man kind? Fire from the sky and burn us all? Asteroids rocks falling down the sky and destroy us? The second coming of Jesus Christ? Another ice age? Will the sun finally burn out and we will all die? Please leave ur comments, i really appreciate it, thanks!

Ur so funny, lol. It's sad that we humans cannot live forever, unfortunately. Could u just imagine if scientists were to invent some sort of drugs to make man kind live for a couple of hundred years and stay young & youthfull looking? I always wonder about the future, how different the world is gonna be like. Will Aids/Cancer and other diseases finally be cured by then? Will the world be for the better or for the worst? Hmmmm, i could just imagine what will the world be like in the year 2182... will there still be hate, violence, fights, war in the world at that year?

I wonder how transsexuals how advance they'll be ahead at that time. Will they be able to get pregnant? Possibly yes. Would shemales be society's norm in the future, and people won't be as surprised or shocked and make such a big deal about it? I wonder how the computer, tv, cars, fashion style, sex toys, ect.. would be like in the future. Will there be some sort of time travel device that ur able to go to ur destination within seconds? Will Ufo's/Aliens finally help us inprove our technology? How different will the future be and look like from now 2010 and 2182 ?

I saw this on yahoo too. I changed computers and that was my default. They post some interesting things on there. The chance of this asteroid hitting was very remote, like less than 1%. I love how they blow it up into something so serious. We will likely not make it past a certain period. There is some point where we run out of scarce resources, but unsure when. Essentially in the near future some extreme country will do something stupid and killing rampages will go world wide essentially self-destructing ourselves. Your worlds dictators will kill us all before any cancer does. As for technology, we can only go so far from here until their ideas are just not cost effective. There will not be some transporters, time machines or age reversing drugs ever. If so, we would have figured it out on tgirl forums by now!

the answer i will give is a scientific one. from what i've learned, the article which barbie has shown us contains validity. and the end of the earth will have all to do with astronomy, unless someone else human or alien made interferes that is.

now please excuse the fuzziness on the details as i took this class a few months ago at u of t. but the two most LIKELY possibilities are:

first possibility: yes the earth is in the path of a large astroid, but not big enough like that picture. this astroid is actually one that is rotation around the sun but the way the rotation is shaped, we have long time before it hits us. and i think the collision will be more like the movie Deep Impact, which sucked major ass btw. morgan freeman at his worst.

second possiblity: the sun goes nova and burns out. simple. even though the sun is very young in its life cycle, it has the potential to lose all of its fuel. after all, it is just a big ball of burning hydrogen. without the sun, we would cease to exist.

i used to think about these things at a very young age, but then i thought of the two greatest words to cure all of life's problems...."who cares?"

I think the end of the world will be viral. Writers have for a long time made readers rather unnerved to the fact that a global epidemic could in fact happen.
If an epidemic is not eliminated, it would result in conflict even before the virus begins to take it's toll on the human race.
