I heard about that game. Too bad I missed it. I know the HABS lost but it would've been good to see both benches go at it. I know the final was 8 - 6 for Boston. 14 goals scored and they didnt pull the starting goalies either. LOL That is truly old time hockey.....LOL.
For those who don't understand or don't care or think violence is not a part of sports are completely missing the point and really shouldn't be concerned anyways. Its all a matter of reflecting on how the game is played now to years ago. The NHL needs more games like this where once in a while there is some mayhem. Some games are too technical and drawn out at times.
On another note I found this clip regarding Benoit Pouliot. A great shootout goal against the Pens on Jan 6, 2011. Enjoy.

Boston - classless.

I think it was an intentional move on Chara's part guiding Pacioretty into that steel . Looking at the hit from various angles he knew where he was and could've let up a little but rather than doing that he finished his check, as all players are taught and this happens.
The Montreal police are putting forth an investigation on this which i dont believe will go anywhere. Players around the league are in disbelief that Chara got absolutely no fine or suspension on this, intentional or not when an injury like this occurs something needs to be handed down but on the up side I heard Air Canada is threatening to pull out of the advertising and sponsorship contract with the NHL because of Betteman and his lack of enthusiasm on this and in lack of protecting players. I hope other advertisers follow suit.Last edited by Rantsalot; 03-13-2011, 10:36 PM.

How about Lisa? Why not get someone like Chara check Lupul in the same fashion. I'm sure you'd be all quiet and civil and stuff like that, not. The Toronto GM would probably be calling Betteman 24 hours a day begging for redemption. Air Canada isn't the only one threatening to pull their endorsements either.
Of all people even Sean Avery said that it was "very strange" that Chara didn't get punished. One of the most hated goons of the NHL admitted that. Thats saying something.
Toronto is the best franchise in Canada hmm? I can prove with so many stats to say otherwise.
As it is now....

That was a funny article. Having money doesnt guarantee a cup.

Wow. Well I've played hockey too up until college. I then focused on education and having a career. I've met many NHLers also .i.e. Doug Gilmour, Kirk Muller, Patrick Roy, Mario Lemieux...etc.... even barbecued with them. I never coached and had no intention too but I know the game inside and out Don't think because you are involved in it make you any better than others.
By the way, don't you have your own "Leafs" thread lurking somewhere?
