  • Holiday Inn - Chiang Mai, Thailand

During my last trip to Thailand, my ladyboy friend and myself decided to take a trip up north to Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand and about a 1 hour plane ride north of Bangkok.

When I checked for hotels there was many many cheap hotels but wasn't sure what was good. So upon checking the Holiday Inn website I saw I could get a King room for about $40 canadian. This sounded great to me.

When we arrived we found a very nice highrise hotel, probably one of the tallest buildings in town. Since I am a platinum member of Holiday Inn they had upgraded us to a suite on the 22nd floor! We took the glass elevator up with the bellman to see our room.

It was amazing, the best $40 i've ever spent.
It was a little dated with much wood interior and shelving.
Mostly we were amazed by how huge it was with a living room, bedroom, huge entrance and bathroom. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub and a glass walk in shower. A bidet and double sinks was the topper here.

Several sofas, chairs, desks and tables along with 2 flat screen Televisions and a mini bar. I love mini bars in Thailand because they are affordable, so I always raid them.

We had a great view from this room and in the morning there was a free breakfast included. The breakfast buffet was amazing with anything you can think of and more, did I say free!

Even if I had gotten the regular room, this hotel was an amazing deal.
Good service and close access to markets and dining make this a winner.

      Visiting Chiang Mai, Thailand

I did not go to any ladyboy bars in Chiang Mai however it is quite like the rest of Thailand with a huge number of trannies. They have the classic go-go bars and I spotted a couple ladyboy bars along the way.

This northern part of Thailand is known for having jungles and the highest mountains in the country. Here you can tour the jungle, mountain bike, visit temples and more. It is very beautiful here and there is a zoo and many other animal exhibits.

We saw cobra trainers, went on an elephant safari through the jungle and rode a bamboo raft quietly down the river. We played with tigers, monkeys and snakes. Also visited the long neck people.

The next day we went up the mountain and saw waterfalls and temples.
Chiang Mai is an awesome place for a vacation. It is very cheap and has much to see and do. The food, of course, is amazing just like most of Thailand. Ladyboys are also plentiful.

Yes, lots of stuff going on in Thailand.
I have been all over the country except to the southern pennisula where Phuket, Samui and Krabi are, some of the finest beaches in the world.

The best things about Thailand is that it is beautiful and warm with an old culture that is prevalent in everything. They have also taken on western culture in a thai fashion. Almost everyone there is very hospitable and will go out of their way to do things for you. It is still extremely cheap to go there and that is also a fantastic feeling when our western money goes so far. As they become more democratic it will certainly get more expensive to go there. They do have an emerging economy, it seems but it is hampered by political unrest. The old guard cannot give way to the new.
