I completely agree with you regarding this. But as I see it there is give and take. If a client would like to pay less, then you(we) must make him understand why you charge want you(we) do. What I ussually do, is I cut time. I am very good maximizing my clients time so the get the max out of the time they pay for. Do I cut the time. There is give and take in every industry. Unfortunately, as price goes down so does the quality of my service.

How do you think a clerk at Mcdonalds, Holt Renfrew or Winners would react if a client did the same? Three completely different stores. Yet I am sure the clerk will laugh in each case. At Holt, the clerk might even get you the Manager, just so they can laugh at you together.

Better example....Does a Bar client have the right to walk out of the bar without paying his tab once a month. His excuse, "I am a regular and I tip well...."

i would only think negotiation would go into mutipul hours overnights etc or if they were visiting you more like once a week then i would consider discount but not expect it

          I am not

saying what to do, but a lot of business owners do offer discounts to help with repeat business. Examples Canadian Tire gives you money back to spend at their stores, air miles, aeroplan, club Z at zellers etc. In one way or another they all give incentive to keep doing business with them.

I'm in the service and sales area and to retain customers you have to give an incentive.

I hear on here how hard it is to get guys to show up and how many guys book and are no shows. If its a guy you like some what and have seen before you know he will show offering a discount for that alone would be worth it.

Never mind if he's not a freak or creep its safer than seeing a stranger every time.

wow you do realize you can not compare a service to a good that is not really reasonable. Now onto rewards company like Canadian tire and Zellers raise their price to cover the cost of your reward and keep the reward allotment money making interest off it. so you she could say for example charge $220 in lew of $200 then after 10 visits the person would get one free. that is why you can go to shoppers drug mart and get brand x for $9 and go to wallmart and get the identical item for $7 their fake rewards are a part of their profit structure but at the end of the day you do not get it for less you just get fooled that is if you realize it. Zellers has offered their reward program and are about to go the way of the dinosaur. as for credit card company's they make a % off all your purchase you make of course they offer you rewards they want more profit the rewards are nutting compared to their profit.

oh yes you can always tell them you have raised your prices but keep them the same for them so theirs your discount.

don't get me wrong I'd love a discount but I'm realistic you get what you pay for and everything is going up in cost not down.

Once a month wouldn't really be a huge regular. While I'm not an escort (and not a tgirl to boot) regular would be weekly or more often. It also depends on how busy you are and if you want more work, or less or the same.
Are you oberbooked as it is? could u replace him in a heartbeat? would it take u a month or two to find a regular again? If you enjoy his company maybe offer him more time in exchange for the same rate. A bonus for his regular business! The best part is that for the most part this Bonus won't cost you anything! (means you work a lil longer one day a month, if you would normally do nothing during this time, then it costs u nothing)
Be creative and work out a solution. Helps if you know why he wants a rate reduction, is it because he's got a pay reduction at work? other mandatory expenses have gone up? (land taxes, gas, food etc...) Sort it out with him on a case by case basis!

yes as i said just prior i think once a month is a little lose to be a regular once a week or more then yes for sure.
as for free extra time once a month wondering how many people would do this with their work as most count the minutes. now costs have gone up but so has minim wage and people do still get raises etc. this is not about weather or not they can afford it because for every person that cant their is another that can. as a base rate unless demand drops significantly then prices wont drop.

Have you ever experienced the awkward situation when regular men who visit once per month for over a year or more, suddenly, out of the blue, one day, request a reduction in the rate for the same services.

How do you deal with this situation
you do the smart and honest thing and give him the deal, maybe his finanial situation has changed and may not be able to afford it but either way greed is nothing to behold period.

                              its an old business saying

You put dollars in the bank, not percentages so sometimes in business it is better to make less on each widget you sell, but sell more widgets.

Example, are you better off seeing 4 clients a day and making 200 on each, or seeing 2 a day and making 250 on each.

I am not voicing an opinion or giving advise, just something to think about regarding how this post started.
