I have watched this twice. The first time I was in shock, and the second time ...hurt. But I was not hurt that a transwoman got beaten and no one helped. I was disgusted that a human being was beaten by another human in a public place, and no one came to help. And when someone finally spoke up, it was an elderly woman. The weak defending the weak. Crag is right about that neighbourhood and gangs, and I understand the reality of it. But if a young man was mental challenged and entered the women's washroom and refused to leave because he did not understand, would those two girls still react the same way?

We can all point fingers and say it's the fault of the employee's or even Mcdonalds (I no longer eat there) but in the end, this is a greater problem. The employee's should have done something, the other clients should have done something. McDonald's should do something....but let's be honest. No employee is going to risk their life for this. (Personally I think the transwoman was setup). And considering that this is most likely gang area...Fear stops the clients.

Throughout history, we can look back and be disgusted with our lack of acceptance and tolerance. Witchhunts, Nazi's, KKK... Northern Ireland hates Southern Ireland because one is catholic and the other protestant.

This is a sad situation, those who followed Bill C-389 here in Canada must realize now how important this Federal law is in shielding us. Not only from scorn of others in public washrooms, but also from ignorance of employee's who feel it is justified to beat someone because they believe the are using the wrong washroom.
