Not that we don't love to see the ladies in various states of undress, whether that be in sexy lingerie or completely nude in poses that are still tasteful in their presentation.

I agree, having pictures such as the one Shelby just posted here included in their galleries shows more the total person. There are a number of the ladies that have included these types of photos and they look awesome. One other idea for the fully clothed pictures is have some from the various seasons or dressed like they were going out for a specific types of events. Some may be more of a casual  and lighter look for summer; example being a couple of the photos Lucy has on her site where she is in a light summer dress, short hemline and plunging neck line. She looks amazing and still leaves something for the imagination to ponder and entice you further.

I think the handle o that tripod should be a little more upright as a fitting tribute to the subject.Shelby gets a rise out of the cameras, too.

but consider this. i had to take the lens off macro and set it to wide angle to get the "full" picture

                  Great shot Shelby.

I see you upgraded to the better lense when you got the Rebel, good idea.

As for potrait lighting setups, I've seen some of the umbrella light stands advertised at the likes of Henrys. They have a fairly wide range of equipment with similar variation in price too. That would be one place to stop by and check out, they always have somebody very knowledgable on hand whenever I've gone in (back when doing my research before buying the Nikon D70S).

I took this picture with my Canon RebelXT / Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM / Canon 580EX flash
if anyone can tell me a good portrait lighting solution I would love to hear from you.

Glamour lighting is often done from the front and often with a softbox. Photoflex has a kit of two 500 W lights with soft boxes and stands that is very nice.

Lumiquest ( http://www.henrys.com/webapp/wcs/sto...iliate=froogle ) has a small softbox attachment for off camera flashes that would work with your Canon flash. It turns the flash into a softer, more flattering light like the kind used in magazine covers.

If you can get another flash unit and the wireless trigger device for your Canon you have even more choices.

                    Have fun.

Well photo buffs I was looking at the photoflex 2x1000watt system. I like the idea of continous lighting. flash lighting seems pretty tricky and being a novice Im a little at odds at flash lighting, even though Ive checked out the alien bees stuff.
Would the photoflex 2x1000 be overkill ? or is this the right stuff to do the job. Hopefully its not so large I cant take it on excursions to do location shoots. ?
For now I still have my 580ex but I also have a Vivitar 283 and the slave module so I can sync the 2 up ( i hope )
Ill mess with that for now
Im looking for the best price in Canada new/used so if you know of any retailers that carry this stuff let me know.
                      Thx photo buffs

                        Hi Shelby,

I'm a semi-pro photographer who has photographed a number of ladies over the past couple of years. I'd like to do some "edgy" shoots with you in the Spring.

Not my best pic but simple a daylight example of one I took with my 50mm lens. This lens seems to like focus on to foreground and really blurs out the background ( this effect is known as the lens "bokeh" - http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/bokeh.htm.
The 50mm is also the one I like to use in the dark club setting at GoodHandys since it will go to f1.8 and works very well even without a flash.

Here are 2 photos using my 50mm f1.8 of the very beautiful and entertaining Chris Edwards (taken during one of her performances. No flash was fired for these photos below.

This one was shot using my Canon 580ex boot flash with a Gary Fong LightSphere II - http://www.garyfong.com/newsplash.html
pointed straight at me. The lightsphere is a awesome flash diffuser and I highly recommend it.
It is available at Vistek http://www.vistek.ca/ in Toronto. Cost is $63.00. It is like a chandelier for your boot flash and simply slips on top of it.

Didn't quite center the shot, drats........oh well, happens when your shooting on automatic.
