I had to smile when I read your post JimJones, describing the sensation you experienced while trying to have a BM that was very painful. Hemmoroidal tissue is a part of the rectum.
Some people's tissue is more sensitive that others.

We people say they "have hemmoroids" they mean that they have somehow aggravated the hemmoroidal tissue in their ass.
When aggravated this tissues swells, bleeds and eventually becomes infected.

Excessive bowel movements as well as pushing too much can cause these symptoms. Damaging anal sex with no lube can have the same effect.

Basically the hemmoroids swell, become infected with regular aggravation, then eventually become abscesses. These absecesses in turn cause the Fistula.

Most people that experience this have had hemmoroid problems their whole life.

Treatment to avoid infection should be medicated suppositories, stool softeners and a few tablespoons of mineral oil daily, as soon as the symptoms appear.
This is the same no matter how you aggravated your hemmies.

My purpose in posting this is to put to rest the fears that some members have expressed (not only in this thread but now also in others), that they are now afraid of receiving anal, even once, for fear of developing hemorrhoids. Yes, but that vascular tissue is not called a hemorrhoid until after the blood vessels become swollen and inflamed, whatever the cause of that may have been. Hemorrhoids are painful, swollen veins in the lower portion of the rectum or anus.
