      hi all of the lovely  members;
      Its Lucy (bisset)... ..... :P    yesterday I got a call from maury show,and the producer wants me to attend in their show.she told me that ,they chose 5 most possible and feminene transexuals in north america,and one of them was me( its their opinion...)(what an honour... ) .All of the accomadations,expenses...etc .will be covered by the production company.. .It may be a great opportunity,big advertisement ,but at the same time it will destroy my private life.because lots of my friends,my neighbours,my classmates even my landlord thinks that I am a genetic girl.after the show, there won't be a secret anymore.It may effect my own private  life.what do you think about that,can you please give me some advices.should I attend or reject their offer?... here is their emails and the scenerio of the show.;

      Hi,

    Hello Lucy. To me this sounds a bit rushed. It certainly must be flattering though. I'm not sure how much advertising you would actually get to do. Remember there are 9 other people there. So yes you'd get exposure but you'd be giving up your privacy. Personally, if you are doing well without it I would pass. Unless they were also offering some financial incentive.

    Good luck in making the decision that is right for you.

      Hi Lucy;

      If it was any other show I would say no.
      The Maury Show does this setup from time to time and I found nothing to be insulting to trans people.
      I say go for it if you don't mind the short notice.

        I guess I'm not too sure what YOU get out of it. I'm quite clear on what THEY get out of it (good, titillating TV I suspect). Maury has a miniscule audience up here, and you seem to have many fans already. I'm not to sure how many people that are really interested in TGs in Toronto don't already know about you, so it would have limited impact in terms of local demand. if you are seeking either (a) affirmation that you are a beautiful woman or (b) trying to attract the attention of US admirers then it might be worth your while. I don't think you need the affirmation, given the lavish praise we in Toronto regularly (and deservedly) heap upon you.

        Hope that helps.

              Don't do it.  You have almost nothing to gain and a lot to lose.  It's a no brainer to me.  Fame is generally a by-product of fortune, very rarely vice-versa.  Nothing worse, IMO, than fame without fortune.
              Think of your clients, who keep a discreet private life, if you were out with one of them, ( or me ), think how it would be for them if you were "outed".  You could potentially face the prospect of less income, not more, unless you decided to go Hollywood, and appear in "Joey Silvera" type films.

                Buck said exactly what I was going to say. The advertising value is virtually non-existant with this type of show.
                From what I can gather you are kept very busy with your current set up.

                I say don't go it.

                Best of luck.

                  Tip

                  Hmmm, this sounds remarkably like when the Beatles left Liverpool, and then they left England for America and we all know what happened to those 4 lads when they went to America.
                  Go south young lady, expand your horizons or at least take a look.
                  Opportunity seldom comes,
                  Toronto is nothing more then a spec, and being popular to tranny chasers, hmmmm.......well golly gee isnt that just something I want to put in my resume !
                  Sure the show gets more out of this then you, but then opportunities are like that.
                  Its not about being famous, or rich. Its about where you are heading in life and building towards where you want to be.

                    Re: I need an advice

                    Hi Lucy ,

                    I am honored with you asking the opinions of the members here.

                    My thoughts are that you need to determine what you want out of your lifestyle. If your goal is to be famous, and known, perhaps this can help you in that direction. Its not very often this type of show leads to movie or television roles, but anything is possible. If you dont care about being known and this is not what you want, i would say take a pass. These type of shows often turn into a mockery of the guests and you are at the mercy of small minded Americans who may not appreciate your beauty and kind heart. What you may want to do is contact the producer of the show, get all the info on the type of show it really is, what their goal is and how things will be presented. If it is respectful, maybe consider it. Your privacy is important, and you have started to live your life as a girl, if you are happy and enjoying yourself, you may not want to step into the limelight sweet girl ...

                    A fan ( one day i am coming to visit your sweet smile i promise !)

                      This has nothing in common with the Beatles leaving England.

                      I've seen this type of episode before. The show has both transgender and female guests parading on stage while audience members yells their best guess on their gender. The whole concept is done in poor taste.

                      IMO, those seeking to be with a transgender know what resources to use to find the right woman. I don't believe this will offer you the opportunity you're expecting and would ultimately have a greater, negative impact on your personal life, that you seem to hold in high regard.

                      In the end, the decision is yours, and I wish all the best of luck.

                      Bill.

                      By the way, although not having met you (yet) you do really come across as a nice person.

                          Hi Lucy, I am writing you from the Buffalo NY area. We haven't met (yet) but hopefully that will change. If your friends only know you as a woman, I feel you have TOO much to lose by going on this show. Your whole life could be turned around again and unless you are ready for that possibility, DON'T do it.

                            Lucy,

                            I don't think this is anything like the Beatles coming to America either. I understand Shelby's point but I just don't see where this is on the same scale fame wise. Like anything else in life, the more information you can have about something before making a decision on it is always the best way to go about things. Although the Maury show isn't in the same league as the Jerry Springer show, it isn't known for being all that complimentary to it's guests either. If it were me, I would want to know a whole lot more about what the show will be about. Rememebr, a few weeks after the show airs, most that watched it will forget all about it. So with that said, If fame is appealing to you, you should have a follow up plan in place to make that fame a reality.

                            What bothers me a little is Shelby's comment "Toronto is nothing more then a spec, and being popular to tranny chasers, hmmmm.......well golly gee isnt that just something I want to put in my resume !"

                            I truly hope that all the transexuals that the rest of us admire feel differently about us because I hope when we're spending time with someone that we mean more to them than just some guy chasing after a tranny. I don't want to speak for others but I'm pretty sure that most members of this board have nothing but the highest regards for transexuals and want the same in return.

                              When I mentioned opportunities. I was thinking of other things.
