Here's my opinion. I don't think he should be able to join. I know, I know!!! but it is "The Girl Scouts" and he is a boy. It seems like they were pretty sensitive to the situation which is a step forward you must admit, but I think what really needs to happen is to lose the whole "girl scout" "boy scout" model and just have "the scouts" co ed! In this day and age you wouldn't think it would be that big of a leap to take. I've also heard of girls wanting to join the boy scouts too....same arguement, but to my mind sexuality shouldn't be at the forefront of these kids existence at that age anyway. Just explain to the kid you have a boy body so for now you'll have to join the boy group. Later you can decide what you want to do. Tricky subject!!!
