  • Queen @ the ACC

Had the opportunity to see Queen at the ACC this past thursday. What a awesome show. I was somewhat skeptical with the selection of Paul Rogers to do the singing but I have to say he really did a great job.
Brian May and Roger Taylor also did their fair share of singing and they also have outstanding singing voices. It was apparent even though Freddy was a huge part of Queen the other members made the band what it was/is also. They paid tribute to BadCompay, to themselves "Queen" and also to Freddy.
Really an outstanding performance by all the lads and the audience sang merrily along to so many wonderful songs.
    We miss you Freddy

pic from my cell, the best i could do dratts would have luv'd to have my real cam there.

    Hammer To Fall
Words and music by Brian May

Here we stand or here we fall
    History won't care at all
Make the bed light the light
Lady Mercy won't be home tonight yeah

You don't waste no time at all
Don't hear the bell but you answer the call
It comes to you as to us all
    We're just waiting
    For the hammer to fall

Oh ev'ry night and every day
A little piece of you is torn away
But lift your face the Western Way
Build your muscles as your body decays yeah

Toe your line and play the game yeah
Let the anaesthetic cover it all
Till one day they call your name
You know it's time for the hammer to fall

    Rich or poor or famous
For your truth it's all the same (oh no oh no)
Lock your door the rain is pouring
Through your window pane (oh no)
Baby now your struggle's all in vain

For we who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the mushroom cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just wanna scream it louder and louder louder

What the hell we fighting for?
Just surrender and it won't hurt at all
You just got time to say your prayers
While your waiting for the hammer to hammer to fall

Luv the song ! Now someone pass me my guitar while I turn my amps to 10

    Re: Queen sucks without Freddy

Queen will never be the same without Freddy something should be just left alone, I like Paul Rogers but when he was with BadCompany..

Thus concert wasn't even publicized much as hardly anyone knew about it including me

      Hi Shelby,

Great to hear it was a good concert, im a huge Queen Fan. Its funny, back when Queen was hoping, Freddie Mercury was the lead, i never appreciated them. But as the years have gone by, I've come to realize, Freddie was a Master at his trade, very much under appreciated alive, and very much appreciated dead. Sort of sad i think.

He was brilliant singing Bohemian Rhapsody.

      have a good one kona

I thought the concert was amazing. Yes, Queen is not the same without Freddie but it was cool to hear all those great songs played live.
