  • Is there a health nurse on this site?

I just want to know the safety of different lubes. Water based vs silicone based?

Is silicone safe inside the rectum?

Thank you for the info. I guess the only harm is if the silicone can enter your bloodstream if there are cuts in your rectum.

But those cuts should not be there if you are well lubed up. Is this the lube of choice for most people? Just want to hear any personal reviews.

I tried water based lubes and notice the hassle of it drying and becoming sticky.

Will give the silicone lube a try and report back.

Sometimes too slippery, doesn't really get sticky.

It lasts for a really long time and once you get it on your hands, you won't be able to turn a door knob for hours.
The ones I have had said it acted as a skin emollient as well.
Shoppers drug mart sells pure silicone, half silicone/water based, and water based all of the same brand. (can't remember brand)
It is very cheap, other places like adult stores charge huge for silicone.
Never get silicone anywhere in the bathroom. Next thing you know you are falling in the bathtub, then you can't turn off the faucets and you slip on your ass getting out. The worst part....it stays that way. So the next day you jump into the shower, you forget the silicone mess you made before and bang...you're on your back looking at the ceiling.

Funny part is that it is so true.

Shyla, normally any idea involving you and the phrase "on your back looking at the ceiling" sounds like a good time. Except in this case. In this context it sounds quite dangerous. Silicone is too good as a lubricant at times. Just a reminder we all need to be careful I guess.

          Cheers.

I use System JO H20 Anal Lube..

Best water based lube on the market. Last a long time and doesn't get sticky..

Cleans up 100% with just water and is totally safe for ingestion and insertion via penetration..

They also make a silicone one that is condom safe which is the slipperiest thing ever..

Depending on where you get it the product is reasonably priced..

Also these anal lubes from JO are concentrated and you only need half of what you'd normally use from an average water based lube. I also like it as it has no taste or odour to it and it doesn't stain either..

Even their regular water based lube is good too. Thinner consistency but just as effective and also does not get sticky..
