  • Heading Up To Toronto For First Time

I'm gonna be up in Toronto for first time next weekend.

Wish I could have arrived on Thurs nite to check out Goodhandys but alas couldn't get that day off from work!
Would have also liked to catch a Raptors game but they're on the road.

So my question is whats a great place to hang out either Friday or Saturday nite or both? Is Goodhandys still an option?
Any other good clubs/bars? Will be staying in the downtown area.

I am not sure of the schedule at Goodhandy's these days but probably one or both nights you should be able to get out there.
Just check their website to see what they have going on those nights.
Sometimes they have private or non-tgirl events.

George's Play is a gay bar just up church street which isn't too bad a place and has a lot of tgirls that hangout there.
You may see Barbie and few other familiar faces there.
Also many of the working girls make the rounds in there throughout the night and usually there is some kind of drag show there.

Other than that the next best place to find tgirls is after hours clubs, but I can't really tell you where to go because they change all the time. That swing club is trying to attract tgirls, but probably not many on the weekend.

I would suggest a restaurant, however I have yet to find one in Toronto that impressed me and I am sure I have been to hundreds of them there, nothing stands out really, just Fran's and Golden Griddle because they stay open all night.
Also Druxy's Deli because they have the best reubens.
Truly Toronto's finest cuisine is the Hot Dog stands.(i'm not joking) They aren't all good but the ones that are, have the best hot dogs you can find anywhere. Most of the places in front of city hall across from the sheraton are great.

All my visits to Toronto it was uncanny how the sports teams were never in town and no good shows either.
Maybe it's a conspiracy against outsiders.

It's funny that a city as large and diverse as Toronto would not have tons of great restaurants. Last time I was in TO a few weeks back I took Asia to the Spaghetti Factory. Now I have been to the Spaghetti Factory (don't know whether it is the same franchise or not) in a couple of other cities and this one could not compare. The ambience was nice but I didn't care for the food at all. Buffalo on the other hand, a much much smaller city, has many many great restaurants to choose from.

I don't know what it is.

Maybe since Toronto is so big, the best restaurants are hard to find or in the suburbs.
However I have been disappointed in many places.
The few Mexican places I have been were not good and a couple Thai places were horrible.

Like I said I think Hot Dogs are possibly Toronto's best.

Hey, Fran's is a good restaurant with quality food, and open 24 hours.
But really it is kind of a lunch counter type of place.
