I read the calgary escort bylaws and what i dont understand is how you cannot have incalls when you have to give them the address of the place of buisness and you are not allowed to carry on your work anywhere other than the residence on your license. Remind you, this would not come under the bawdy house laws as these licenses are legally only meant to basically allow you to just to sit and have coffee ,chat with someone for a period of time in exchange for money. You can do the same thing without charging money and you would not need a license,so to get around it when you get a call ask straight up if there law enforcement or bylaw inspector, they have to tell you i believe, http://www.calgary.ca/PDA/DBA/Docume...vice_bylaw.pdf

      Yes and No

Shyla, you got it right. The city is protecting their interests. That's what I think anyway. They pass a bylaw because they want to exercise control over the area. Having passed the bylaw, are they going to let people do as they please and ignore it? No, they are going to enforce it just like any other bylaw. Huge99999 was likely sent by someone to cast aspersions, something which is beginning to wear very thin on me.

Other forums keep the girls safe by sharing information. Why can't we do that on this forum? The only reason I think we don't do that here is that tgirls are so jealous of one another that they just wish harm on the very people that they should protect. I'm not like that. If I can help other girls, why shouldn't I? I'm open to friendship with any girl as long as they don't attack me. Girls that attack me are on my shit list forever. Anybody else, we can be friends and help each other out.

Chantel, The bylaw doesn't really explain why an escort cannot do an incall but, if you read between the lines, you can sort of see the problem. First, if they were going to approve incalls, you would have to provide an acceptable location. Since it is a business, you are not allowed to operate from you place of residence. In other words, you can't work at home. Since the application does not address an incall location, this is out of the question. The city is not picking on escorts in doing this. Very few businesses are approved as acceptable home businesses in Calgary. Second, as Craig mentioned before, you have to consider what is reasonable. Is an escort paid $300 an hour to sit and have coffee? No, she's not. She's engaging in prostitution. The city does not have the right to pass bylaws in regards to prostitution but the federal government gives them the right to regulate the "escort" industry. Is the city then going to allow the "escort" to do an incall when everybody knows that prostitution is going on? No, they are going to prohibit incalls. So it's a no-go for incalls from a bylaw perspective, at least until the federal laws change. Then, who knows what we'll end up with.

YES some of these bylaws are kind of wacky, on a more humorous side few years back i was riding a bike on the sidewalk in a area where theres very few pedestrians, part industrial area in brampton,a officer actually doing radar at side of road saw me and said get on the road ,your not allowed on sidewalk,he was having a bad day i believe,he was going to give me a ticket but he got a call and just took off, when i got home i phoned the bylaw and i was in the right,as i was told it was allowed as long as the wheel base was 26inches or less,it was 26 inches lol
