Spring is here and it looks like the street scene at Homewood and Maitland is picking up. I checked it out over the weekend briefly. Did a quick walk around the block, talked to a few, and then moved on. A few things I noticed about the street scene:
1. The "girls" are mostly transvestites, not transsexuals.
2. You have to do some searching to find a real TS.
3. They're affiliated with pimps for protection/guys roaming around in bicycles monitoring the area for cops.
4. The tend to work after a night of clubbing in the Village or at El Convento Rico.
5. Some girls who advertise in the paper or websites sometimes show up (TS Kim, Samara, Coco)
Overall, you're better off calling them. Its safer and more discreet.
