Your opinions on crossdressers?

First of all, let me preface this by saying that I am a a closet CD who has nothing but respect for women in transition. I've had a difficult time meeting transgendered people who relate to my situation, and have been met with a lot of anger and disgust when I've explained that I am a cross dresser, and not sure if I want to transition full time. I live primarily as a male, but very much enjoy living as a woman privately. I often find I feel more comfortable that way, and have never felt 100% comfortable or accepted as a man.

What's your view on crossdressers? Are we just seen as perverts, like the other thread I just read about someone "transitioning" into a "shemale sex slave" (yuck) or can you as a man or transgendered woman relate to my struggle with identity?

What does it matter what people think? Live your life. If you don't feel comfortable living as a man you might really be trans.

i think the hatred comes from the fact that some crossdressers will use the trans title whenever it suits them. which angers a lot of transgirls. i've never hated any crossdresser. i need a REAL reason to hate someone. but i do get a little annoyed when someone is living 247 as a man than decides to dress up for the day and is now declaring they are a transwoman for that day than goes back to being a man the next day. this further perpetuates the idea that transgender women are just men in wigs. and it really doesn't help our plight. from what you've said here i don't think you are a crossdresser as crossdressers dresss up strictly because it gives them a sexual rush wearing womens clothing. you sound like more of a drag or potentially androgynous/genderfluid. which is what i was for a long time before i transitioned. transitioning is hard and everyday its work but the benefits at least for me outweight any negatives. take some real time to deep some deep self reflecting.
