I spend St. Patty's in Boston this weekend. Boston with it's Irish population would be a great place to spend St. Patty's Day. Saturday started well, I caught the Bruins-Flyers game with my date and continued to enjoy the day's festivities. I would have to say a much different crowd then the St. Patty's day in Montreal. Where as in Montreal people are out to have a good time, in Boston it's...aggressive. As we partied into the night, we found ourselves at Rise, a Boston Afterhours. On the dancefloor, this Irish redhead tranny bumped into me...or I bumped into her. She gave me some weird look and I giggled and continued to dance. Next thing I know, the crazy redhead is pulling my ponytail and yanking my head to the down to the floor. As the doormen are having no luck pulling the nutcase off of me, I completely lose it and I throw a punch. Seriously....luckiest punch in the history of humanity. I clocked her on the nose. It broke and she let go of my hair. After that, the cops were called by her friend but the doormen pretty much defended and supported my story. I walked without a charge against me.

          So Happy's St. Patty's Day.

Between Shyla, dita and barbie it was a good old fashion St. Patricks day.
            Drunken Irish brawls and everything.

Maybe we should all go to a soccer game next.

lol....more funny shit. Nike released the Black and Tan shoe which was inspired by Guinness to honor the Irish. But Black and Tan offends certain Irish communities. Weird how it's ok to call a beer "Black and Tan in Ireland, but not a shoe.

I think Black and Tan offend some Irish because it is a mixture of Porter and Bitters.
Porter and Stout are pretty much the same.

Bitters is generally considered an English concoction, so I can see some Irish think it would contaminate their Guiness.
Plus the political contention against anything English in Ireland makes this a bad thing.
Ireland is like a Nation with a Nation and they don't like the parent Nation much, think Quebec.

However as a Bartender I know that you are not suppose to use Guiness for a Black and Tan unless you have to.
Another Stout or Porter should be used.

Guiness is meant to be served on it's own, plus it is not a true Porter.

                    You get lube everywhere.

Good thing you didn't get it in your Guiness or you might offend an Irish man.

Also it would ruin the carbonation.

                        This is the full story

Just in time for St. Patrick?s Day, Nike released its SB ?Black and Tan? sneakers, a nod to the popular beverage made from mixing stout and pale ale. What the company didn?t realize: the name is also deeply offensive to Irish people. It refers to a brutal British paramilitary unit sent to suppress Irish revolutionaries in the early 1920s. In Ireland, the ?Black and Tans? are still widely associated with merciless mistreatment of civilians. The name would be the equivalent of calling a sneaker the ?Al Qaeda? in the U.S., Ciaran Staunton, president of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform, told IrishCentral.com. Backlash ensued, and Nike offered a a swift apology for unintentionally upsetting the Irish people. It was a complete accident, of course, but it does make you wonder why nobody over at Nike?s headquarters knows how to use the ol? Google machine.

They didn't even have to know about this Black and Tan revolutionary unit to avoid the controversy.

They merely had to understand "Black and Tan" is not an Irish Drink.

It was invented by the English, using Porter Ale and English Bitters.
It does not contain Irish Stout and a true Irish Man would never drink English Bitters.

                          It is pretty easy.

They could have just asked an Irish Man.

Porter Ale is like stout and the name was coined because it was served in Porter Houses around England.
These House were also know for a certain cut of beef served there, later named the Porterhouse Steak.
