  • Postal Service Closings: Snail Mail Can?t Compete With Internet

Interesting Article, the internet cannot deliver parcels yet.
    Only documents.

    http://www.webpronews.com/postal-ser...ternet-2012-04

I would have thought the increase in online ordering would make a difference.

Some guy invented a machine that does that 20 years ago, but he ended up changing himself into a fly.

Oh wait, I think that was a movie...

I think it is more like 54 years ago.

            Seriously though.

I think in the future they will be able to digitally scan an item and have it replicated in your home, once you pay.

Kind of like the replicator in Star Trek.

If this comes true, stuff won't cost very much or eventually be free.

things like that get broke every week or so in Star Trek. Maybe it's gonna be free, but the tech is gonna charge you, 'til we invent transporters

The transporters break all the time too.

However no need to transport goods when you can just re-create them from a digital blueprint.

Transporting will be required for living creatures.
The replicators can replicate our look but not our soul.

Hmmm..... does anyone realize how nerdy this all sounds?

Like, weren't cars suppose to fly?

Well when we have the technology to transport matter, it won't be needed for shipping stuff.
Because we can just create it from the computer, no need to ship anything.

No one ever said we weren't big nerds.
I order custom tape for my glasses and need to ship it.
                    So this would benefit me.

Homer Simpson bought the first model of the flying car, it was very buggy.

I think they are actually street legal planes, not cars.
