I have an idea I'd like to propose again to the forum as also management that I mentioned last year but didn't quite have the plan for. I've been thinking that perhaps an addition could be made to the "review" section regarding the ladies photos / photo portfolio they have on shemale canada. If there is interest in this I'll explain the who - what- where - when - why and how as it were.

That idea's worth following up on!
I'd fully support that idea Rants and had SMC with all its photos been in existence when I was writing reviews I'd sure have used it. How often after a review has been posted do we see requests for links etc. ?? It would add greatly to the value of a review. Only problem is that not all girls would have a SMC profile with pics.Originally posted by Rantsalot View PostI have an idea I'd like to propose again to the forum as also management that I mentioned last year but didn't quite have the plan for. Photo reviews
Here is what I'm proposing. It's all pertaining to the photos, NOT the profiles.
What is a photo review? It's something like this -
Examining or evaluating a picture or set of pictures with the possibility or intention to change or not change something and bring about more awareness
Usually the photo review isn't just about one photo but many and it is used to help improve things on the technical and artistic side.
Who can write a review and who does it benefit? I look at it it like this. Undoubtedly when a man here goes to see a girl there is very little doubt a huge part is based on seeing photos. If men start writing reviews about girls it would surely help provide a different view on what people see that others don't. This is the beauty of writing photo reviews as there is no right and wrong. People should be able to talk whether they know very little to very much about photography in general. With this girls could also write about other girls pictures without harsh consequences ( in theory ) --- scroll down to the HOW section for further clarification
Why write a photo review? To see if others think the same way or not and share ideas. These reviews could help the photographers to take the criticism to improve their skills. Example, if people keep writing how much they like so and so's photos because they are always sharp, centered but dull on colours then maybe the photographer might want to take it into consideration to improve the colour use. Writing photo reviews would also help the girls especially if they are the ones taking their own shots and again it would be pretty much for the same reasons as that of the photographer. Example, the photos of so and so that she took are bright, her use of the scenery is great but the outfit / pose doesn't seem to match the mood it may help the model try other things. Of course it would also help the guys here confirm or not confirm if they have the same feelings or not before and after they see a the photos and the reviews.
Where would the reviews be written? As I mentioned before in the review section.
When would a review be done? Again this is the beauty of it. Anytime. It does not matter if the photos are old or newly posted , after or before a meet, whenever.
How would anyone write a photo review?
Balance the technical and artistic
examples
- `I like the dress she wears` means nothing
- `I like the dress she wears and seeing the spotlight ` to the photographer says to use more lights in the future and for the girl to stick to that fashion , technical merit but no artistic merit
- `I loved the blue dress she has with the matching heels and the yellowish light and the fountain in the background looks nice too but is blurry ` this says many things such as the colors mixed , the attire was right, the scenery was ok but not everything was in focus.
In short
- look at all the details big and small.
- focus on what you enjoy. If something isn't really your thing then you're going to have a hell of a time liking something so youd have to keep that into consideration.
- see if the photo gives a message you were thinking of ( or not )
- stick to a style you like
Like I said there is no right or wrong because when it comes down to it its all about peoples perception, how they feel when they see the photo , what it means to them etc etc. Anyone who is writing something for the sake of causing trouble or shameless promotion would be easily seen by others as a trouble maker and that could greatly injure the reviewers rep, big time. Why? It is because of an obvious display of hate for others i.e. hate towards the photographer/subject and guess what those "reviews" would be instantly invalid. In turn if someone feels they have to yell at people for not liking their photos then they should maybe sit back and wonder why.Last edited by Rantsalot; 05-12-2012, 12:41 AM.

Not so easy
Even if they can or can not post a video dan some girls just don't want to do that hell some of them don't even want to post up a photo. It's got nothing to do with the times. Considering there is an over abundance of photos out there this is the more logical route.Originally posted by dan_calgary View Posthow about video review !!!!!!

Photo quality!
Perhaps, if you go ahead with this project someone could write a bit of a primer for the girls on how to take and adjust photos that they plan to upload. Now, there's a job for Ray who is, I believe, a professional photographer. A few girls have extensive collections of professional or at least professional-quality pics that can be used e.g. Lucy, Lola and some others but many girls have almost nothing and they would be less favourably seen by viewers because of that.
Anyway, here is something about photos that is somewhat related and which has bugged the hell out of me for ages. So many girls post photos on SMC and elsewhere which are so dark or so washed out, so out of focus etc. as to be totally worthless, and in particular, they post self-taken cell-phone pics which show little because of the intense glare in the mirror from the flash. There seems to be a tendency too for girls taking such self photos to tilt the camera about 45 degrees and so I find myself cranking my head to the side when looking at those. It's hard on the neck!
Almost all phones /cameras these days come with some form of photo-editing program with which the pics can be cropped to show only the intended subject, not the pile of dirty clothes and shoes on the floor or the toilet (that seems to be so prominent in many photos). The brightness and colour intensity can be adjusted etc. etc. before they are posted.
Self timers are very common too and so rather than flash into mirror to take picture, the camera could be set up on a table or something so the girl could pose with a nice background behind her. Better yet, two girls could partner, swap cameras and take photos of each other.
I think I have just "ranted-a-lot" too! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

Since my name was mentioned
Rantsalot, I love you. You are a dear friend. However, I think this a BAD idea.
Whatever you do though, keep my name out of this sort of thing. I am absolutely against it.
Rantsalot, Toban, nothing against you guys. I love you and you are two bright stars in my skies. But I think you need to put your feet on the ground and look around at what is happening.

Sunshine my dear friend I thank you very much for the input and believe me I have taken everything you have said into consideration plus a lot more that has yet to be mentioned. it is good to see your posts as also the others before you with their take on the matter.
This idea was proposed last summer and I have been going back and forth every which way since that time evaluating the pros and cons. As it is its just an idea and nothing more but thats why I ask for input with any idea I come up with. Should the majority say no don't go ahead with it then so be it, should people make alterations to the proposal then fine or if its widely accepted well in the end it still doesn't mean it will pass as its up to Admin to say yes or no.
I do find there is some importance in this and hope it could lead to something constructive but quite frankly if this topic is deemed too controversial and the thread is closed/removed I am fine with that too.

For example
As a simple indication of what I say, look at what happens as soon as you propose this idea - Dan Calgary jumps in and uses it as a forum to stir up shit.
If this was a world of compassion and love, your idea would get my full support. It is the context that is wrong. Nothing can come of this but putdowns.
Honestly, that's why I don't post here very often anymore. Almost every time, someone uses what I say as an opportunity to slight me.
It makes me really upset because I love Craig, I love many other people on the forum. But the forum is plagued by calamity and hurtfulness. I believe you are attempting to inject some light an otherwise dismal environment. I just don't think you can succeed.
I love you as much as I hate Dan Calgary - that's everlasting love.

Now that I have said my bit on the wild variations in the quality of photos posted both here and in SMC by some girls, I have to admit that I am struggling while trying to envision exactly what a "Photo Review" such as you propose might look like. I originally thought that it would be just what we have now with a photo section added but obviously you see something much more complex than that.
I am sure that you can "see" quite plainly (in your mind) what the proposed photo review would look like but I can't. I've read your post but I can't "see" the Photo Review in a graphical sense. To make it easier for us to understand your concept perhaps you could put together a mock review using publicly available photos to help folks like me actually see what you mean.
When I look at a review I consider it as a potential consumer, but after reading Sunshine's post below I'd be very interested in learning what difficulties she forsees should this type of review become a reality. I concede that any concerns the girl's may have should be considered as well.

As usual, Mr. Toban puts into words pretty much what I am thinking only he does better than I ever could. Bill, you are a real asset to this forum.
I too have often wondered about the terrible quality of most of the pictures on ShemaleCanada. If you are a used car dealer, you are going to show the best looking cars in your advertisements, not some beat up old jalopy. The same should be true for escorts. I believe that cell phone pictures have lowered the level of photography so much that even pictures taken with a cheap point and shoot camera look pretty good so ladies, if you can't afford to have some professional photos taken, please invest in a $100 camera and like Mr. Toban said, perhaps you can take pictures of each other or perhaps ask a client to help you out. As Mr. Toban eluded to, I used to be a professional wedding photographer and once a photographer, always a photographer. I used to take photos of Lisa when we would get together and she would use them in her ad. Currently Asia has a couple photos of mine in her ad.
Rants, I must admit that I too am confused about exactly what you have in mind. Where would the pictures used in the review come from and how would they relate to what you experienced?

I always thought the point of a photo review was to critique the work of the photographer, which in this application would be counter productive.
The subject of the photo should be of lesser importance to the technique of the photographer in capturing the subject.
This might make for interesting discussions on photography, but I can't see it doing much good for the majority of the women involved.
Most of the comments would probably be cynical shots at the lack of "hotness" of the subjects.
Sorry Rants, I like your enthusiasm, but I see this one as a non-starter.

If someone wants to criticize something, there is no lack of material. Just don't use it to attack me. My success has touched most parts of my life. My health is good. I don't use drugs, I don't drink alcohol. My clients know me. They will confirm this themselves if you read my reviews. I remain professional in spite of the circus around me.
When I do a photoshoot, I'm not cheap about it. I hire professionals. I just paid over $2000 two days ago for a photoshoot in Edmonton. I invested in some great dresses, a leopard print, dolce gabana, a dior, and some Michael Kors jewellry and set. My clients know that I look even better in person. When I invest in quality, I get quality back into my life. I apply that principle in every part of my life. From what I wear to what I eat, I strive for quality.
But is that the norm today? Is this the way most of the girls live today? I dare say not.
If a comparison must be made, compare me with someone who is on my level. Don't compare me with a druggie.
