This whole thing is a little misleading.
Scott seems a nice guy, but also seems somewhat mislead and in a dream world.
I kind of think he is just an actor, he is just too smooth and misinformed.

There is lots of Scott's in Canada but most tgirls cannot see the trees for the forest.

Ladyboys don't ask you back to meet your family only if they particularily like you, they ALWAYS try to get you to meet their family. Once you go to meet the family the pressure first is to pay for everything for everyone all the time, the next pressure is to get married as soon as possible. Since the Buddhist ceremony is not legally binding it is very easy to put together.
Even a legal wedding in Thailand does not hold up in Canada.

That expert on ladyboys is only an amateur as far as I am concerned.

Ladyboys work as escorts to make money true but often they are sole supporter of their family, so are sent to Bangkok to provide.
In some cases ladyboys had no choice in becoming transgender as their parents may have forced it for financial reasons.
Unlike China, in Thailand daughters are more valued than sons.

The only ladyboys that stay in the country and get regular jobs are those that are not attractive enough to make much money in Bangkok or Pattaya. These tgirls would die for a great boyfriend but will probably never meet a foreigner that wants them.
Thai men will never want them and only use them for sex.

If you meet a ladyboy in an escort bar, it is just the same as Canada.
They are escorting and you cannot be sure of anything they say or do on the relationship front.
Every guy here knows that trying to date an escort is impossible,
unless you are some playboy that is open minded.

Craig you are speculating rather a lot in your post however because you have only seen a small segment of mine and Paengs life that is understandable, the TV can only show you so much. Obviously anyone who has been to Thailand is immediately an expert on the subject, I have made over 25 visits to this country and lived here for nearly a year but I would never profess to being an expert and never will.

However to put you right on a few of your observations.

"Canada"! why would I go to Canada to meet ladyboys, I lived in the UK, shows how much notice you took of the programme.

"Paeng being faithful while while I was in England"! who knows its immaterial anyway now im living here but its wrong to tar everybody with the same brush.

"Lives as a man back on the farm"! It wouldnt even enter her head, like most true ladyboys it wasnt a choice it was there from a very early age, have you ever actually met a Thai ladyboy because with comments like that you are talking like a complete newbie.

"They always want you to meet the family"! absolute bollocks and there has never been pressure for us to get married or ever asked me for money. They have given to me far more than I have given to them.

This tells me you know very little on the subject and just believe what you read, try asking the girls about their lives rather than just assuming.

Absoulte rubbish, I have travelled all over this country and there are ladyboys in normal working jobs throughout the country and some are stunning, not everybody wishes to be a prostitute no matter how much money is involved.

Ok now for a bit about us that you didnt see. Paeng and I have been together for 4 years, before Paeng I had numerous relationships with ladyboys. I knew Paeng for 7 months before we decided to become an item. One thing I have never done with Paeng is throw money at her, I did give her money to start businessess so she can provide for herself and family, one was a noodle bar and the other was a small pig farm. Over a year ago we bought a bar in Pattaya, this was so we both have an income, if you have seen the new documentary its all about the bar and our staff, we are also in the process of buying a guest house, still a phoney? Try looking on youtube for sensations bar, website in the making. The bar is thriving and its possibly the busiest ladyboy bar in Pattaya or Bangkok at the moment.

Like I say I dont profess to be an expert but due to having 20 ladyboy staff working for me and living with Paeng 24/7 I have had an insight into the lives of ladyboys that some would never see, you have to get behind the working girl facade to see the real person. It is wrong to label everyone the same, however I can see why some people with limited knowledge of ladyboys and Thai people can start to think this way.

In summary you have speculated way too much, your comments are in my opinion based around what you have heard and the old wives tales about Thailand etc, I dont really think you have had much experience with ladyboys apart from a 2 week holiday a few times a year with your ladyboy girlfriend, I hope I am wrong but you seem very misinformed or bitter. Most comments such as yours come from guys that have had failed relationships with a Thai girls or ladyboys.
