why are my designer running shoes warring just on one side. I paid a high price for the running shoes and am disappointed that they have worn out on one side thus forcing me to shop for more. Where can I get proper running shoes that will last longer?

The best and easiest way to avoid cheaply produced goods of any kind is to stop buying goods with designer labels on them. Designers know nothing about shoe construction.
Even if the label is genuine the largest part of the higher cost of such goods is the outrageous fee that goes back to the so called "designer". The quality of the product is not guaranteed just because it has a well known "designers" name on it. Such products are generally made in overseas sweatshops by underpaid workers.
Instead of looking for designer names on the product look for the names of reputable manufacturers who always stand 100% behind their products. There are way too many kinds of running shoes to mention but for runners e.g. think of solid brand names like Nike, Asics or Adidas. They design good, long lasting footwear with their own name on the label.
e.g. let's say you need a new 3/4 ton pickup and you see XYZ Motors has a new hot Georgio Armani pickup. Think that's going to be a better buy than the old reliable Ford F150? Not a chance! It might look nice but it won't have the guts to stand up to the tasks it's put to
