The first thing is starting eating breakfast and eat most of your calories before 6pm.
This will increase your metabolism, weightloss and give you more energy at night.
Eat foods that are good for you.
Chicken and rice together is one of the best things.
Excercise, even if it is only walking it will get your metabolism up.
Find a sport or activity you like and stick with it.
Winter activities like skiing and skating burn more calories than warm weather stuff.
I have lost 60 lbs over the last number of years, so I know these things work.

As for food: smaller portions and healthier alternatives. For instance, if you like chicken, bake or grill it instead of frying it in grease. Less liquid calories (sugary drinks, alcohol, etc.)
The other thing you have to do is be active. The more active, the better. Instead of driving or taking the bus a short distance -- walk. Find a way to get your heart-rate up (cardio, or some other athletic activity that you'll enjoy like swimming or boxing or dancing.)
I decided to get active and get fit back in the Spring, so far I've lost over 40 pounds. Just stick with it and you'll get the results you want.Oral Creampie beats ALL
