"Cat Man Committed Suicide" ~RIP Dennis Avner 1958-2012~
A man whose numerous tattoos, piercings and other cosmetic surgeries earned him the world-record for body modifications died earlier this month under unclear circumstances.
Dennis Avner, known as "Cat Man" was found dead on Nov. 5 in his home of Tonopah, Nevada.
The 54-year-old former US Navy sonar technician, also known by his Native American name Stalking Cat, had become famous for transforming his face to resemble a tiger.
His cause of death has not been released, but it is believed he took his own life.
Shannon Larratt, who knew Stalking Cat, wrote in a blog post that Avner had tried to adopt the spiritual essence of the animal world. He had tried to transform "himself not just into a tiger, but a female tiger at that, blurring and exploring the gender line as much as the species line."
"A wonderful and complex person, he was at times as troubled as he was remarkable, and he recently took his own life at the age of 54," the piece read.
As many of u who already know who Dennis Avner is, aka "Cat Man" was, well he has appeared in many tv shows and on Guiness Book of Records for the most modifications to look like an animal. Well Im sad to hear that he committed suicide at his home. My heart goes out to him cause I give him alot of props that he transisioned from a Man to an Animal, knowing people wouldn't accept him looking like that. He must have been very unhappy guy to take his own life. Perhaps he couldnt find true love the way he looked? Maybe he was suffering from depression/mental illness? Maybe he couldn't take the discrimination abuse from society everywhere he went cause he look out of this world, like a freak show? Well who knows why he killed himself.
He got fame from his over the top plastic surgeries & tattos apperance world wide. I kinda feel sorry for him, cause i know what its like to be different and not understood. Well hopefully he made in to heaven, even though the bible says suicide is a sin. I must say, i remember i sent him an email 2yrs ago, asking him if he was into transsexuals, attached pics of me dolled up as a cat, and to my surprise he emailed me back within a few mins only replying back a simple "No". Anyways, it takes alot of guts, self hatred to look like a freak and to kill ur self on top of that. It still makes me sad that he ended his life. This is really sad. Did i mentioned he got female breast implants? I wonder if he was transgender ?!?! Check out the video clips of him down below.
