I can never get use to the CFL, the horrible calls and lack of strategy. I hate the 3 down system, the 1 point for kicking it into the endzone, lack of running game and the fact that almost EVERY play is offside.

With the lack of a NHL season I did not turn to the CFL but rather to the NFL. That is exciting football. Even College Football offers more entertainment. With both my College and NFL teams doing well (49ers and Notre Dame), the CFL, the Alouettes and the Grey Cup did not even raise any interest in me until the game last week between Montreal and Toronto. Tuning into the game, I was shocked at the lack of quality football at the Eastern Conference level and I was quickly reminded why I never watch CFL football.

I would not even consider the CFL the next best league....that is NCAA football. I doubt the BC. Lions last years champion could beat Andrew Luck and Stanford last year, and they didn't even win the BCS championship.

I respect the CFL for the insane pass defences you see, and for giving the NFL Doug Flutie, Joe Theismann, Raghib “Rocket” Ismail and Warren Moon. But it ends there....

      That said...Go Stamp's!

Apparently, Argo's fans don't spend much time on my favourite forum.......oh well, their loss. They're gonna lose again tomorrow......GO STAMPS!

BTW: I'm jealous, Dan, sounds like a great way to spend a weekend. I'm getting quite a list together of beautiful t-girls to meet with next time I'm in TO.

I come from a big family of CFL fans but I've never been that into it.

I'll be cheering for the Argos but secretly wondering what's going on in the NFL.

CFL can be really good if you get a couple of teams that put a few drives together and have a decent running attack.
The eastern conference has never been known for it's strength, the west has always had the most heart I think.
The Allouettes are not the team they have been over the last few years.

It is the pro sport in the most cities in Canada, it satisfies that need to line our warriors up against each other.
Canada does not have enough players for it's own league so we tap the US reserves.
The CFL gets alot of the US college stars that are too small to move to the NFL,
and the all purpose type guys that are not specialized enough.

The starting pay of the CFL is 50,000 whereas the NFL minimum salary is about 500,000.
I just don't think we are talking the same level of player and something of a different player.
Still many of the US college players would be nowhere without the CFL. They get a decent job and are community leaders.

I've had my moments with the NFL but I can find it a little boring at times, especially if it gets defensive.
The CFL you can see lots of beautiful play action and some really crazy passing plays.

I think BC would have given Stanford a run with CFL rules.

Half-time: 24-6 for TO. Not looking good, but plenty of time for a comeback (he says with confidence.....)

I think they could make a game out of it. I am also aware of the differences between the NFL and CFL salaries...which is why I picked NCAA as a team to challenge a CFL team. I understand that the salary in the CFL is 50,000. NCAA players do not get payed...per say. They do receive an education and a stepping stone into the NFL.

On the rules....this is how it should break down. Pick one leagues field and ball size, and the other league down and rules system.

It would come down to a running game. On a CFL field with NFL rules there will just be too much room and space for a NFL style running game. Remember Lawrence Philips? On a NFL field with CFL rules once again the running game comes into play as it will open up room for the passing game. I don't believe that the 3 down system would effect Andrew Luck very much as his Colts are the best in the NFL on 3rd down conversions.

As for the NFL defensive boredom....I prefer a strong defensive team (My 49ers are the number 1 defensive team in the NFL) over an offence which struggles to move more than 20 yards per possession. I will agree about the CFL pass offence and defence...but I just cannot handle the number of times the ball changes hands, and the last 2 minutes takes 30 minutes...

Your right, Shyla: The Argos clearly showed up, the Stamps, well....clearly didn't.

On the plus side, in the version of football where you actually use your feet, my hometown Manchester United came from behind (again.....who needs defence?) to beat QPR 3-1. All is good in the world.

                            Yes indeed, Beautiful One.
There was a slightly talented Portuguese lad at Man U for a few years. What was his name again?......oh, yeah something-or-other Ronaldo....... Current midfield star Anderson is Brazil-born, Portugal-raised.

Benfica - class outfit. Makes sense they're your team

i made toronto, my luggage went to Winnipeg, whatever,

had a reception at the Royal York Saturday, was alot of fun, and alot of drinks,

game sunday , uhhhhh, could of been better, what happened ?

halftime show, well I'm older, justin bieber and carly rae, maybe not my thing, but there was NO REASON TO BOO them,

really Canada, be proud of their success,

went with 3 people , that quite didn't have the same interest as me, and was hard to dump them,

so did not see any girls, what a waste, worse then the Stamps losing, oh well, will be back,
