  • Calling protocol

Hey everyone. I was hoping to get some advice from from both sides of the business.

It's standard practice to set a meet time but request a confirmation call before, usually 30 minutes before.

What should someone do if there's no answer for when the confirmation call is attempted?

Should they call back? How soon should they call back? And how often should they try before giving up?

They don't want to disrupt anyone but they also don't want to miss their meeting.

Any advice for me and for anyone else who may have experienced this? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Very good question! But unfortunately the answer to your question could be highly variable given that each provider has her own way of doing things (mode of communication, time to call to confirm, time to reveal her address etc.).

Having said that, I think that the issue comes down to authenticity and reliability at both ends (provider and client). A professional provider will direct you to a mode of communication that is accessible to her at the specified time. For example, she might say to you call me to confirm at this time and if you couldn't reach me you may leave a voice message or she might ask you to text her at a specific time etc. If you have followed the directions and were unable to get an answer there is nothing wrong or disturbing if you tried several minutes later if you are still interested in meeting as you were directed to call at that time.

There is nothing disturbing at all about a sincere gentleman who is trying to confirm an appointment.

1- I never call back anyone (discretion)
2- Try calling every 15 minutes for an hour.
3- Send her a text "I'm your 00:00. I'm here! Text me or call me when you are free."
      4- Rebook

Thank you very much, Jane and Shyla. I'm sure I'm not the only one benefiting for your thoughts and advice.

Anyone else have other ideas on this?
