Barbie, no I don't. The fact is the only place racism is prominent is in a safe place. That is to say, the place I live in is full of all races and genders and sexuality. The area is crime ridden, poverty runs rampant, the mentally ill roam around and drugs are all over the place. This means that every person runs a risk by just living here. Granted... it's not Harlem... it's not Detroit or any other place with a high homicide rate but crime is here because of POVERTY. Let me put it to you this way. I AM CONSIDERED SUCCESSFUL.

Coming in late to conversation, so I missed Barbies earlier comments. I do agree with Tonia though in that people have the right to say what they wish....

On the stance of what happend to Eva, its DEPLORABLE what happened to her and happens all to much. I live in the DC Metro area and there isn't a month that goes by that you dont here about a gurl getting assaulted, shot or stabbed in the area while walking down the street. I can't bring myself to say that some didn't do all they should have to prevent it because not all the details are ever released and there are always 2 sides to every story (I'll elaborate a little: When you are talking to a guy and thinking about hooking up or he is def showing interest, coming clean and being upfront should be a must and done so without assuming that they already know because if they don't and you don't inform them, it could make for an ugly experience that could end in someone getting hurt [though violence is never an answer].) With that said, there are a lot of gurls assaulted for no other reason then being themselves and this is uncalled for. Though the transgender community is coming out more and more every day, I believe that in time it will be more acceptable then ever before, but will never be without it's critiques and haters. It's been that way with everything through time, from the way women are treated, blacks are treated, and even the military (despite your looks or gender).

All they do is train more criminals in jail the way things are going there.

The war on drugs and the crackdowns on prostitution are ridiculous.
They trap people in the lower class then lock them all up.
Hopefully the legalization of pot will continue and they will stop throwing half their population in jail for weed, that is the stupidest thing of all.

Agreed admin. Even though some of what you mentioned does happen in Canada to a lesser degree. I am sorry about what happened to Eva and I am a fan of not only Eva but of the transgendered community period. I happen to be a Black male and I don't appreciate being lumped into a group with these men that would attack any human being let alone a transgender female. I don't want to be harmed by others so I would never harm another person unless in my defense. I am like any one else who just wants to live in Peace.
