But the two prominent Toronto-based transgender artists said the performance was spoiled when they were arrested by Alberta RCMP officers, whom they allege deleted photos from their camera and threatened to throw them in jail with men.

Arsenault said the incident was provoked by questions from the flight attendant, which they deemed inappropriate.

?She came over and said, ?You guys have to teach us how to do our makeup,? ? said the 39-year-old performer. ?And then they were like, ?You know, because you used to be guys, right?? ?

In response, Sanfino decided to strut topless down the aisle.

?She walked down the aisle with quite a bit of grace and flamboyance and had her arms out,? said Arsenault. ?And then the flight attendants came and covered her up, saying ?Think about the children!? ?

Contacted via Facebook, Sanfino added: ?My actions spoke louder than words.?

WestJet spokeswoman Brie Ogle declined to comment on the incident as it was under investigation by police. She said she was unaware of Arsenault and Sanfino?s complaints.

?If our guests would like to contact us, we would be happy to work with them to address their concerns,? said Ogle. ?However, we have not had a complaint at this time.?

When the plane landed, RCMP officers were waiting to arrest Sanfino.

Arsenault said she filmed the arrest, which the officers objected to. When she refused to stop filming, she alleges they handcuffed her as well.

Arsenault was eventually released without charge, while Sanfino was charged with causing a disturbance.

Alberta RCMP Sgt. Jos?e Valiquette confirmed the arrest but would not comment on the allegations.

?We will not be able to speak to the details of the investigation as the matter will be before the courts,? she said. ?If these people feel they were not dealt with appropriately, they can make a complaint at the appropriate location.?

Arsenault and Sanfino said they were taken to an RCMP holding cell, where Arsenault claims an officer took her camera and deleted photos and a video of the arrest.

They claim the officers began referring to them as males after seeing their passports.

?They were addressing us by male pronouns,? said Arsenault. ?I was like, ?OK dude, I understand that legally it says ?M? on our passports, but we present as women. . . . Everyone knows I?ve had a lot of surgical procedures to feminize myself.?

?They said, ?Just so you know, we might have to put you two in the male prison.? ?

Regarding the alleged comment, Sanfino said, ?All I kept thinking is they are threatening me with one hell of a good time.?

Arsenault alleges an officer questioned her about her operations.

?He said, ?So have you had the final sex change surgery? Do you have the original parts down there? Did you get something new?? I said, ?I don?t think that has anything to do with my arrest.?

?Let?s face it: if you?re legally male, it?s not even illegal to remove your top,? said Arsenault. ?I think that was the politics she was exposing. If you?re going to treat me like a male, then I?ll put this in your face. Which begs the question: now am I??

I agree with Crag, most probably because i'm logical and realistic just like a guy.
No wonder i have thousands of (male) clients and tons of male friends...because i think and relate to what you guys think 100%

However, I do respect Nina and Lexi, though I think Lexi's reaction was really over the top thus making matters worse.
But again...she might not have realized the consequences at the time.

I, for instance, never have problem crossing the border though my ID is still male as well (i will change it hopefully next year)
      Why?
Well, because i dress and behave normally just like others.
I'm not at the airport to impress or to make any statement to anybody. I'm there just to fly to the next city, so why do I have to behave or dress differently than other passengers?
These guys (at the border/airport/airlines) are trained to treat us equally without any prejudice, regardless of our sexuality, race, religion, gender status etc unless, of course, if we provoke them first.

the attendant was naive at the time, but i'm sure she did not intend to hurt their feeling

I wish them the best though

      My honest reply ,

      Tia

I was just on a West Jet flight today, it was uneventful, never any excitement lol. I think if convicted (lets hope not) that the judge has a since of humour, may be a sentence of being a flight attendant for a day. I'd pay triple for t5hat flight lol Hi Tia, xoxoxox

sweet and honest, though we are very different, and I truly hope that "stunning, elegant and classy" as you described will not be interpreted as "flamboyant and over the top" by the rest of us, ordinary people

I'm, On the other hand, (most of the time) in hurry when catching the flight, though i always make it on time so far.

Do I have the time thinking what kind of dress, jewelry or make up I have to wear few days in advance?
mama mia...i'm glad i can wear my t-shirt, jeans and knickers properly lol.

I don't plan what kind of dress i'm going to wear at the airport, unless i will be booked by a gentleman, then yes, i will think how to look more elegant and appropriate to match with his business attire, considering that is part of my profession being a companion/escort, otherwise NO.

But again, it's just me ok?!

There is no or right answer is, everybody is entitled to express and show who we are.

The bottom line is: I don't see going to the airport and flying as a special occasion.
It's part of my life indeed.
At the same token, those in charge with passengers will see us,also as an "ordinary thing" unless, of course, if we provoke or behave differently

Things seemed to have settled out now and some wings have been clipped.

How fortunate those girls are that the Captain did not decide to divert the flight at his first opportunity to get rid of them. They could have been left high and dry at some prairie airport (e.g. Prince Albert) with no rail or Greyhound access and also liable for 10's of thousands in penaltys and damages had that happened. I believe not long go a rebellious drunk on an overseas flight was dropped off in Gander and billed something like $50,000 to cover the costs of the landing etc..

When I saw the article I had mixed emotion about it. This is something that I would not expect from Nina. She has worked hard on her career and to be taken seriously. I do not know Lexi and shouldn't judge her.

But seriously, to strut topless on the plane just seem very immature and childish. If it was a man, he would have been arrested as well for incident exposure. Most likely he would have been given a slap on the wrist and sent away. This incident is attracting more attention because of who they are (Transgender).

My opinion and there is no value to it, Lexi should have just let it go and took the higher road.

I was wearing a sexy blue guess dress, thigh high stockings (to protect my legs) and some sexy/comfy shoes..

generally I always consider what I'm wearing all the time.. for flying I like to be comfortable..

sitting on a plane for 4.5 hours..

None the less, westjet staff treated me really good, happy, and great service..

best I have seen on a westjet flight actually..

Was at a party with Lexi and Nina last night and had a blast..

They're both great people.. dramatic though.. but that's who they are..
