    ...

This is a late response but I can not stress the importance of this. With ANY kind of injection or removal make bloody sure someone is certified and qualified to do the procedure. I can not tell you how many times I've read where a girl has had something done and then shortly suffered and/or died from it.

Bad comparison..Silicone Removal is not available in Canada, so how are they going to save you? Why do all the girls go to mexico? Go get plastic surgery done and you will realize that only your original doctor will touch you unless you rip out everything and start over with someone else. If you have complications, you have to go back to your surgeon. If this was not the issue, every girl would go to Thailand or Mexico where surgery is cheap and get a doctor here to do touch ups.

If you want a list of girls that had to go to Mexico I will glady PM them to you so you can verify this.

It is different for doctors to refuse to fix something because they believe that the risks are high and to simply refuse to fix something because it was illegally done. This what I was trying to clarify.
They will fix something illegal if there is no risk of death from the surgery.

Removing loose silicone is risky and possible more dangerous than the Silicone itself.
That is why I was comparing it to inoperable surgery.

They wouldn't refuse to do the surgery because it was illegal.
It is just that fixing it is too risky.

The reason silicone is illegal is because it is risky, ALWAYS.

So doctors will only treat something to a certain level of risk.
This type of situation is too risky for them to take on whether illegal or not.

She is in ICU. She has been honest to her doctors and told them that she had it done. They are trying to treat her and have not once judged her for her choice. She knew the risks going in and is not crying poor me. She is now trying to treat it and deal with it as best as any of us could in that situation.

Thank you Shelby I will give you a call in a bit.

My views on silicon are simple. It is a choice. She & I have both made the choice to have it done. I choose only to do my lips others have made different choices. But again it is a choice. Like any medical choice you make for yourself it comes with risks. Taking hormones is very risky but we all do it. Going under the knife also can have risks but we still do it. Whatever someones choice and reasons for doing anything with there body it is no ones place to judge. As long as you are informed of the risks and make an educated decision for yourself on what you choice to do, then again it is your personal choice.

          Thank you

Tasha.. I'm very sorry your friend is sick..

If she told the Dr the truth then they will do what they can..

Maybe she will die.. maybe she will recover.. If she is in ICU.. it's not a good sign..

You and her both should report the person doing this horrible crime..

          What if she dies?

Are you still going to say it's a choice and protect the person that killed her?

What if this person does it to other girls too and they die?

When you could be the one that stops this person from making people sick and possibly killing them..

You of all people should do the right thing..

If you don't.. no respect for you from me... that's for certain..

Getting a boob job or facial work is one thing..

Injecting yourself with known poison.. that's just stupidity..

Use proper fillers from a dermatologist..

So what if it cost a bit more.. it's safe, legal and easy..

            Radio Show

The person I have been talking about it Mandy Goodhandy. You can listen to her tell the information she wishes to share in her own words

            http://www.blogtalkradio.com/goodhan...-on-the-fringe

The one thing about Mandy that so many people do not know is her sense of humor. This was an amazing show. She handled herself and expressed herself unlike most would in a situation such as this where death is a very real possibility. I ended up calling in but to be honest I am really so upset by the whole situation that I made little sense and then point I was trying to make was forgotten by the time I got on the air.

I hear all of your points and it is your right to feel the way you do. But this situation is about the chance we might loose someone who has done so much for Trans people. Someone that I will say for the first time in public she is someone I respect, love and hold very dear to my heart. One of the most important people in my life. It is not about blame or getting on a soap box and blaming silicon or judging those who make the choice to do it. This is not the time to do that. Positive thoughts, preys, words or information of encouragement is what should be shared right now.

If you wish to have a silicon bash maybe think about making a topic for that conversation.

            Thank you

I am not doubting that people "usually" go back to their original doctors to fix the complications. Usually in those situation people are safe to travel. But here the situation is different, this girl as I understood it is on oxygen to breath in the intensive unit.

I might have misunderstood your initial post, but the impression I have got is that because silicone implants are illegal no doctor will fix her. If this is the case, then I would disagree, If the doctors can remove the implant, then whether it was legal or illegal is irrelevant in what appears from the post a critical situation.

There is a difference between the fact that doctors don't usually offer this service so not to encourage people to pursue it and them dealing with it on emergency basis when someone might die from it. I am actually not aware of an example in Canada where doctors will watch someone until they die without helping/trying removing the implant. If you are aware of such a case, please let me know and I could definitely see your point.

The best thing you could ever do to help her..

Make sure no one ever sees the person that injected her..

That person is going to kill someone sooner or later..

                Maybe they already have..

Obviously the person that injected her is a bad person..

                I'm not bashing silicone..

                I'm trying to help..

                I hope she gets better..

If it metastasizes in her brain.. then she probably die..

                3-4 days will tell all..

Use your show.. make an example.. stop people from doing this..

Stop the people that make money from killing girls..

If you don't.. you're promoting it.. you're helping to make people sick..

                "You" are helping girls die..

                  Oh here we go

Could you be anymore negative and judgmental??
We get it. Your a woman hear you roar. Your not helping at all. Your using this as a tool to bash silicone and the person who does it. STOP IT. If you want to continue to go on and on open your own topic. This topic is for advice and support which you clearly have none to offer...

I have said this and I will say it again. It is a person's choice to get silicone or not. Just like you with getting your breast done or pooping those pills everyday. It is your choice but there are risks involved as well. No one has the right to tell anyone what they should do with the own body. She knew the risks like we all do. It was a choice and now sadly she is paying the price. She is not asking for sympathy nor am I. But the situation is sad. We can not change it just try to deal with it and maybe correct the problem.

                    Why ask for help?

You phoned me less than 30 minutes ago..

Telling me how you're married to a fucking doctor..

And how you think it's a safe choice to inject silicone..

Then you tell me that turning the person in is pointless as there's just another person going to do it after..

That's a totally fucked attitude and the lamest excuse in the world..

Then you threatened me and said I don't want you as an enemy..

I'm sorry but I had to hang up after you called me a drag queen..

It almost looks like you are using Mandy's predicament to promote yourself Tasha...

I know Mandy and Todd.. Personally..

I sure as shit don't want you as my friend Tasha..

                    Loser..

                      Please..talk a walk off a long bridge

LOL. What more can I say...oh yea lots.

First I called you rather then doing this on a public forum but you seem to want/need the attention. Unlike you when was the last time I posted again This was about a friend in need. I do not have to use anyone or any reason to gain attention or fans or make a name for myself. I already have and had that for many years. But it does show where your mind is my dear.

I am married to a doctor and I was telling you this because you disagreed with me about some medical information. I was simply telling you where I get my information from. This by the way is very public knowledge.

I asked for advice on treatment options and support. I did not ask nor do I care about your personal opinion on silicon. I also wanted to give the link for people to listen to Mandy's radio show about this situation. Because I personal feel people need to be educated on this topic so they can make THEIR OWN CHOICE.

Yes. I called you a drag queen it was better then what I wanted to call you In a time when I could lose someone dear to me it might not be the best time to tell me how to run my radio show or that I am helping to kill girls because I feel differently then you do. Again was not the best time to attack me.

As for knowing Mandy and Todd personally. Umm going to there club or having a couple of emails does not give you that right to make that statement.

This topic again is about support and information. You clearly have an agenda and a need to make sure your voice is heard. That is wonderful for you. But this is not the time nor place to put on that...I will be nice Voice. Again you wish to bitch please go and start your own topic. Your negative, bitter, judgmental views really are not needed nor welcomed.

As for us being friends. I never asked nor would I ask you to be friends. Your not my cup of tea..thank you all the same.

You know been back 1 day and posted 1 topic and here we are again. It is people like you that have made people like me who used to enjoy this forum not wish to post or comment.

                          Dear Mandy,

I hope you read this thread.

I'm one of your fans, i think you are a great entertainer and it will be our loss, A Canadian loss if we lose a person with such a great talent as yourself.

I used to be treated in US hospital for 2 months due to my car accident last year and they have really really advanced technology that might help you recover, better than any country in the world, in all my fairness as far i'm concerned.

Here are the list of top 5 hospitals for cancer, including lung cancer or related to that

Mayo clinic has the best reputation to be very innovative and eager to find alternative solution based on my own research after reading some good sources

In the meantime, I will ask my clients around with regards to your specific case and hopefully something comes up.

                          sincerely ,

The only helpful paper I found so far..

This paper is a case summary that uses 20 mg of intravenous methylprednisolone every 8 hours and high-flow oxygen therapy and the patient recovered..

                            10 days in hospital..

                            http://www.archbronconeumol.org/en/a...culo/13083044/

                            The patient was a TS..

PS: I'm sure the doctors are already doing a steroid treatment to help her breathe.. I've been on steroids before too for my bronchitis.. and when I had lacquer poisoning..

That is not true. My aunt had her lips done when they were still using silicone and only had it removed within the past 5 years. I am not sure which Dr removed hers but I spoke with Dr Middletons receptionist before about silicone removal and he has done it before. There are Drs in the states as well that will do it. The cheapest route to go would be Mexico obviously.

I have heard this also, I found a private clinic in Montreal that removes it from the muscle but not the blood stream. Like you said and are correct, this type of thing is cheaper in mexico but then again so it everything :-). I was more trying to explain that this thing is not covered by standard doctors and hospitals.
