Almost all the trans-related movies/shows I've seen have been remarkably bad, or at most mediocre due to misinformation/stereotypes/poor writing. Hit & Miss was very good though, and is probably the best you can get in the genre -- I'd recommend it to anyone regardless of their interest in trans stuff.

I know that numerous attempts have been made to "try" to be nice to us in films, but they seem to get a lot of information wrong for whatever reason, or just have bad presentation. Transamerica is a fairly popular example of this. I agree that there's probably some good stuff out there that I just haven't seen yet though. Do you have any other recommendations? Hedwig wasn't really my thing, though The Origin of Love song was pretty amazing. I'm personally waiting for The Danish Girl to come out, though it seems to be having production issues.

Oh...don't know if it counts, but Mia Isabella lends her voice in GTA V, making her the first TS in a video game. Important as GTA is probably the highest selling series ever, if not the game with the most influence ever...

Powder Blue!!

Great cast (Ray Liotta, Jessica Biel, Forrest Whitaker, Patrick Swayze, Lisa Kudrow ) and story though on the sad side. Two storylines one of a father (Ray) trying to reconnect with his daughter essica) after being released from a long prison term. And a suicidal priest (Forrest) grieving over the loss of his wife and child in an accident he feels is his fault. Forrest picks up a transsexual hooker played by Alejandro Romero (ok I know bad stereotyping but considering the audience here you will be able to relate) and offers her 50G to end his life with his gun. Interesting that Alejandro's info is wiped off Google so not sure if she did transition in real life and adopt new name etc? Anyways the link is below to watch it on You tube.
