Happy 2014 everyone!


I was looking at my email and I got the acceptance from the forum a while ago but just noticed it today.


Want to say I'm not here to start a fight or reignite anything I just have a couple questions to the girls. Ever since I moved back to the maritimes I have had trouble finding information and more knowledge then my own on a proper transition.


I went and have my appointment with my endocrinologist next month in Halifax. I'm currently saving money to move out west in the fall with my boyfriend to apply in aesthetics and then furthering my school with hair but one of my major scares is if I move out west will I have to go through a process again waiting for a appointment and have to be re-prescribed my hormones? It's something I have wanted to know, and have been worrying about since I've been off my hormones for approx 5-6 months. And once I get them legally I don't want to slow my transition any more that I have.


I know that I need to have 2 years in a province that accepts SRS before I can get accepted for the surgery so that's another bonus for moving out west.


Also, once I start school out there and have another job I want to save up for my breast augmentation and my scalp advance surgery. I don't know if I want to do them together or separate. If I do separate I know I want a certain doctor for my breast augmentation in Miami that a few of my friends have went to but as for my scalp advance I don't know where to go. I heard that there is a good doctor for scalp advance or any facial surgery in that matter in Mexico I think his name starts with C. Why I mention him is because would he be a good option for to get the two surgeries at the same time? Here is a couple photos of me presently, focus on my forehead/hairline area and tell me if you would suggest my hair line pulled down or is it all in my own head that I need it. (Attached the photos wouldn't let me put them directly under this paragraph with my iPhone.)




Last question before I go. A friend of mine gave me a reference to use Champax to quit smoking. I haven't started since my appointment with the doctor is on the 20th this month. As much as PEI is behind on many things one of the worst service it's behind on is the wait for doctors appointments. I know there is more then 50% of the population baby boomers but still I booked this a month ago and I have to wait till the 20th still. Completely went on a ramble there what I'm trying to say is Champax a good and effective way to quit smoking. And also if I don't quit smoking before my endo appointment what could be the risks of taking regularly amounts of hormones and smoke?


There's my three questions if anyone can give me the knowledge they have that would be great. Thanks again, and hope everyone had a safe holiday but most of all enjoys the New Year.

The only one I can help you with is the champax. Yes it does work, but like anything, you have to be committed. These little pills block the nicotine receptors in the brain and after being on it for a few months, cigarettes will do nothing for you. How will this medication react with hormones? Don't know. Best to talk with your doctor. I had quit for 3 years, clear sailing right? No. You can't even have one. Once a smoker, always a smoker.
ps. Wait times out west aren't that much better

Thank-you as much as I have been a member of this forum before.
All I want from champax is for it to be somewhat of a placebo so that I can assume that it will give me more leverage on quitting. I'm going to replace smoking with the gym and reading plus other little hobbies as well. I will consult with my doctor to see what he has to say also.

As as for the clear sailing part I wasn't assuming that at all. I've quit harder and tougher things as of addictions before but I think cigarettes will be the worst of all. But it's a beauty killer and I'm sick of breathing like my lungs are paper bags so I need to quit.

Worst part is I'm 20 going on 21 and my lungs sound worse then my mothers of 42. If that isn't a sign or quit I don't know what is.

As far as smoking, it make no sense to use drugs to quit drugs. The best way I have found to control smoking is to do things where smoking is not allowed or not practical, for me it is athletics. If you have a job, tell yourself you will not smoke at your job, it is not hard if you know you can have a smoke later. Get used to doing something else on your coffee break if it is an issue. The last thing is to try and associate your smoking with something you don't do very often. For example, smoke only when you do laundry. Or smoke only after you have sex. Even if you have sex a lot, you probably won't smoke more than 10 cigs a day. Once you disassociate the smoking from your job where you spend a lot of time and associate with something you do seldom, then you won't smoke much. Even if you have a couple extra cigs when you drink or something, it is not a big deal.

Well, I'm twice your age so yeah, quit now for sure. According to health Canada, nicotine is the hardest drug to quit. And for sure, occupy your time with something healthier, if you do go out to clubs and parties, avoid that trip outside at all costs. BTW, you sure you want to come out west? It's been -40 here for the last month! Yikes lol

Champix succeeded for me where everything else failed. I'm off them, with one short lived relapse, for almost 4 years. The only side effects I experienced was a bit of dry mouth and mental dreams.

Thank-you Crag for the advice. I'm for sure going to keep up with the gym membership my man got me for Christmas. I was at 10 cigarettes about two months ago? I've cut down from how ever many I was smoking per day to 4. I attempted quitting without anything a week ago. Lets just say I was a bitch from hell and it wasn't a good scenario. Doesn't matter twice the age or not we still are smokers right? LOL.
As for the clubs there is nothing here in PEI other then the drama, bullshit and of course the same night on repeat regardless of what night you go out. So my boyfriend and I have taken a hiatus from the club scene for almost a month now which is a huge money saver and has taken a lot of stress away.

Well we are planning on Calgary since there is a few of my close friends from my childhood there and also I have no bad influences there that I know to give me the excuse of a bad example. I heard it's not that bad it's warm for two weeks and then it's cold again from the climate there so it's a big bonus. I can get my full transition there, obtain my career and slowly start growing a family together. One day at a time is the only way I can do it other then saving and knocking little things off my list one by one before we move there. One of the biggest things right now is smoking other then finding another job on top of the one I have currently so I can have enough saved up for the move in the fall of 2014.

Mental dreams? Great! That can go next to the unwanted nightmares I get occasionally lol.

Thank you for your wishes for the move and my transition. I'm just glad I can ask the few questions I need here because it's called a transition for a reason it doesn't happen over night but when you don't know what the next step is then one night can turn into a lifetime which is a shame but it's the way it is.

I still am not 100% on not getting a scalp advance. I want my forehead a little smaller but I'm scared if I get it done then it will make my facial features all mashed up and then I'll want more facial surgery. The one thing I feel I'll want if I get it done the most is a smaller nose. The big stress of it all is deal with it and save thousands or get it done and want to spend more.. Ya know?

I'm attaching a couple more photos of my face and side profile as well so you can see what I mean. My forehead isn't too bad but on certain angles it bothers me.

It's like leaving an abusive lover who beats you, steals your money, and is addicted to drugs.
One has to really HATE smoking in order to quit.

Thank-you babe I like your concept of how you quit smoking and the will power you put together with it. Some statements you said in your story are complete common sense but a lot of people wouldn't even consider to think of. I've been smoking since 14 and I'm 20 now. Which is a hell of a time and I don't even want to imagine the money I have wasted throughout the duration.

All I can hope for is that I quit smoothly but most of all survive the quit and don't turn into a total bitch from it. One thing of the many things I respect what my boyfriend is doing is that he's quitting with me! See how it is when both of us don't have a cigarette in our hand on the 20th.

Thanks again, it's the whole motivation and scare of starting it that is scaring me. But what your trying to say is dominate the situation and make cigarettes my bitch and don't let them give in if so then give them a good crack and settle down again and obtain control?
