The club/bar scene

I have been considering lately checking out one of the many club/bars in Philly that are trans friendly, just to try and venture out and make some friends. I've never really been to a club, although I have been to a few bars just not the ones that cater to that particular crowd. Seeing as I don't really know anyone in Philly besides myself that shares an interest in T-girls, I would be going by myself which I have to admit has me a bit nervous simply because I'm a bit of a shy person...I work better in crowds, and get a few drinks in me and its easier for me to open up and stop being so silent and shy. So, basically, I was wondering about the "do's and do not's" about going to clubs. Like, is there a particular set of rules to these sort of things, or things that I should watch out for or might want to look for? I feel like a noob just writing this lol

Why not go with a tgirl to start with?
If you don't know any, you could get on a dating site and chat with them, eventually go out. Then she introduces you to her friend... and the rest is history.
For any new environment befriend someone on the inside and let them introduce you to the rest.
