Vintage pics form the 50's and 60's

Found these pics through a news story. Facinating look into the Chicago and Kansas City tgirl/drag scene of the 50's and 60's. You just don't see this kind of stuff very often. These slides were found by a couple of artists discarded.

And please keep in mind that at the time, there was very little available to TG/TV/CD/TS girsl in terms of surgery, hormones and body modifications. So please, keep the negativity to a minimum. It's a peek back in time, enjoy it for what it is:

Very cool retro pics thanks for sharing Big Mike Some of these ladies are very pretty and would have great potential
with todays makeup, laser hair removal, etc. But then again it is not necessary for every crossdresser to transition as crossdressing is
a great culture and form of sexual/gender expression in and of itself!

Look at all the cigarettes!!

LOL look at all the stinky cigarettes and cigarette butts on the floor of the hall!

Those were the days when you were allowed to smoke in hospitals, police stations, business offices, in bank line-ups, on buses, and in cinemas and anywhere else you wanted to smoke, for that matter.

Great old pics. Classic stuff! Reminds me of the movie Glen or Glenda.

Some of these guys look pretty good, particularly the Latina in post #4.

I've seen a few of those shows

In the 60’s and even into the 70’s there seemed to be a number of shows of this kind that were integrated into the circuit of travelling shows that did regular stints in lounges, bars, clubs etc.. On the weekends a bunch of us would go bar-hopping either in town or across the river in Michigan hoping to see whatever talent was booked that week.

Those shows would range from really good ones with well known groups of yesteryear such as the Ink Spots, Mills Brothers etc but occasionally the circuit also included shows which seemed to be very similar to those BIG MIKE has shown here. Some of those “girls” turned out to be very talented musicians in their own right though some did only lip-sync to known artists!

And yes Babe, at that time, in a lounge with low ceilings and maybe a couple of hundred smokers around you, burning eyes were common and smoke filled clothes had to be hung outside to get rid of the stink.

Ahh ok I see the "t-girls" in my town are circa 1950 and more like the ones sporting a five o'clock shadow..
