What a fine conversation Cudos for starting such delicious blashphemy!!!
Babe,
I find your discussion here one of great importance, though I do not necessarily agree with all the tenants of your argument, I commend you that a very great deal of what you have written is worthy of great thought and introspection. And my respect goes out to you for raising it. This is not an attack on spirituality as such, but is indeed one on the man made institutions of religious dogma. Even in the Christian milieu, as you have definitely alluded to, there is room for spiritual practice as exemplified in the writings and teachings of the Dane Soren Kierkegaard. Kierkegaard's whole thing , not withstanding his excellent philosophical treatises, was that there was a great difference between what it meant to be a Christian ( I will not elaborate as to what he meant by this) and that of Christendom, indeed the man made institution of the Church. Now he was certainly fighting against the Lutheran Church, so Protestantism but the same argument can go for any highly established Religious organization, and indeed your allusion to the Catholic Church is warranted. Also, very nice mentioning the council of Nicaea, that was responsible for much of what was and is considered heretical.
In fact, Christianity, or specifically Roman Catholicism as you have been mainly talking about that, is itself a hybrid religion. When in the early Days of Christian following, those that considered themselves followers were a very marginalized and segregated people worshiping in a way much different than what Christendom looks like today. It was concerned with a great deal of Gnosticism, indeed Christian Gnostics. I mention this as it relates to your inquiry as to God as "plural" and being mentioned as "us". In the Gnostic view, ( and this is very heretical and the basis for much modern Occultism) The "God" of the old testament, or Hebrew bible was not in fact the True God but a false God, one of wrath and wickedness... in fact the first created and he who thought himself omnipotent... This false God, known in Neo Platonic, Gnostic and Hermetic circles as The Demiurge was associated with the material Universe and Evil. His other Gods were known as Archons and these very well could be the Gods spoken of during the Tower of Babel mythology. The Archons were responsible for keeping the human race in a state of doubt and in a state of materiality. That is why so much modern occultism ( when I say modern I mean really mid 1600's and onwards) has to do with getting through different Seals and breaking through to a different state of being, of vibration .. or astral and ethereal existence.
So, without going into a big lengthy talk on the Occult ( I do so love to talk of such things ), we shall move back into the territory you have laid out. These Early Christians were spreading the word that through a Christ, was the way to the true God the truth behind the evil of the archons and the Demiurge. This is why Christianity can, theoretically encompass a state of complete forgiveness even in the shadow of a wrathful vengeful god. The wrathful fire and brimstone from the heavens God is not the "father" that Christ would have been talking about, but indeed the dreaded and feared false GOD. So with the spread of the Christian message, even many Roman soldiers were starting to secretly convert to Christianity until more than half the Roman Army was in fact Christian. Emperor Constantine, when finding this out feared that he would loose control of his Empire ( as the Roman empire had spread to far and thin... like all the way up to the British isles.. and we'll get to Easter, lol ) made the command that All of Rome henceforth would be Christian and adopted Christianity as the Roman religion... BUT... with many changes. In fact Christianity was no longer what the Christ had preached but became a very specific Roman following of what was chosen to last in the Bible and what the state (Church) deemed appropriate to keep power. Constantine himself kept to the secret Religion of the Roman Emperors.. Mithraism ( in fact a Persian adaptation of ancient worship). Indeed, for a very long time the Church was about money and power as seen with the infamous ex-communication of the Knights Templar. That's where we get the whole Friday the 13th. The Templars were a French Catholic Knighthood basically created to protect pilgrims travelling to and from the Holly Land after the first Crusades. They over the years became very wealthy And powerful ( in fact establishing the first banking system of Europe) and a broke and Greedy French King Philippe conspired with Pope Innocent ( aaah Irony) to have the Templars charged as Blasphemers. So, On Friday the 13th, 1314 the Pope summoned the Grandmaster of the Templars, Jacques De Molay and instead of rewarding him, as was the summons, he had him burned at the stake and tried to have all the other Templars arrested and burned as well. The Templars escaped and scattered north into the British Isles taking refuge amoung the Catholic establishments already there and mixing very much into the local Gaelic culture. That why there is such a French Influence in Scotland, like ? Have a Bonny Day !? Bonny = Bon = Good so ?Have a Good Day?.
Getting to Easter, When the Catholic presence really did enter the British Isles, they had much difficulty with the local cultures and so decided to act in the same methodology as Constantine did, they adapted in order to appease and control. It was basically turning the celebration of the Winter Equinox and the worship of the tree into ? Hey don?t be mad, See, this is Christ?s Birthday !!!!! we can still party , Christ loooovvved trees !! decorate decorate!!? and as far as Easter goes, since the Rabbit was a very meaningful symbol in Druidic circles, the Catholics went ? Hey don?t you worry you heathens with blue mud painted faces, we like Rabbits to !! you can celebrate bunnys, Christ loves Bunnys !!!!?. That was that adaptation for control, just like Constantine, and the council of Nicaea.
The council basically, as you rightly alluded to Babe, chose what would be and would not be in the bible. That is why the Dead sea scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library was so important a find. It contained all of the other books and Gospels that were purposely left out, the Gnostic Gospels talking about the Demiurge, and the archons? The Gospel of Thomas, The story of the Divine Sophia as the Wisdom of God, or as the Female Christ! Before the story of Christ. !! that where you get philosophy = philo Sophia = lover of wisdom.
Now, the last thing I?ll say is in regards to your comment about people behaving like sheep.. Indeed ! you brilliant woman !! This is the main point that Friedrich Nietzsche was trying to get across, that humanity have become enslaved and acted like lambs to the slaughter, sheep following the heardsman of the church. Thus is famous proclamation ?God is Dead!? ( he didn?t mean God as in the idea of a spirit or spirituality butr the man made institution that has shackled the potential of humankind for thousands of years) .. God is dead and we are his murderers, when we unchained this Earth from it?s Sun? Nietzsche is basically citing Galileo here in that the Earth is no longer the centre of God?s universe, we have detached ourselves from that myth which has enslaved our being. And Booooommm Welcome to Modernity ! Now we also missed some of those great Enlightenment thinkers like JJ Rouseau and John Locke, but we need not go into any of that for the purposes of our chit chat here.
So, we also skipped the Reformation and Martin Luther rand all that and a bunch of kewl Christian and Occult things going on in Europe during the Renaissance Like Rosicrucianism, Alchemy and such? basically leading directly to Accepted Freemasonry, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn ( think William Butler Yeates) and ever Aleister Crowley and the Ordo Templi Orientis?.
Anyway, Awsome post Babe, my hat comes off to you for starting such a thread on such a day.. Well done and bravo !!!!! That will be the end from me as I can keep writing ad infinitum? but I shan't
so ... Happy Easter All

The blanking out of posts leaves the threads a bit broken and incoherent. Might as well just abandon this forum.
Didn't know about the little blue arrow, is that new?

Christians generally are blind sheep. They take a thousands of years old collection of manuscripts, of unknown authorship, attribute them to the Creator/God of the universe, and then ignore most of what is in there and just do what their priests and pastors spout on Sundays.
It is 2014 and there are still countless churches all around our country spouting the anti-gay , sexual orientation discrimination, and so on and so on.
They won't accept Christmas was a made up event, or that Easter is another made up event. They won't accept the OT was a collection of oral traditions from a very small and specific area of the world. They ignore all branches of science, math, physics, and the far reaches of human discovery to hold into the 6000 year old earth and Noah's Ark myths because GASP, they can't admit their ancient manuscript is not written as fact from God.
More and more christians are accepting reason and intelligent thought and abandoning these ancient beliefs; at least in our country. Around the world it is still very bad and even as close as America they are still fighting these battles .
You have Christian parents groups demanding books be banned from schools because they discuss sex between two people .Yet, they put the Bible in the hands of their 5 year olds when it discusses wonderful topics such as incest, rape, gang rape, polygamy, genocide, murder, wars, suffering, pain, and all sorts of blood and guts. Somehow all of that is great to give to your kids because it is "Gods word!". But damned it, ban the book that says a guy touched a girls tit!

HEY Black Sabbath 13 cd, still gotta get that.
When God created Adam and Eve to live forever why did he at first call it a paradise on earth when Eve couldn't even cum once by Adam?(they didnt have oral sex back then). Maby God should of created Cindy and Eve or T-Cindy and T-Eve(shemales) to live forever then for sure it would of been a paradise. And im not sure what to make of Easter. Are people celebrating the sacrifice of Jesus or all men who tend to pay a sacrifice in one way or another. Notice they have chosen a man to represent their saviour who died because of their sins. See the connection.Last edited by dom r; 04-22-2014, 10:03 AM.

It's hard to wipe out any trace when my posts are quoted and my words are STILL left on the board in other peoples' posts.
I don't mind people quoting me as i have arranged the quotes of my posts to be quoted.
People only have to click on the little blue arrow to see the original post like you did to arrive in this thread.
To continue quoting my actual text in my posts, at this point, would be considered nothing short of going out your way to deliberately disrespect me.
Is that too much to politely ask?

Hi all,
I am no authority on ancient civilizations but i do try to learn about them when i have some spare time.
Many of our religious traditions were developed/created/invented long before "Jesus" was born. But yet, Jesus, somehow, always manages to become the protagonist. Isn't that odd?
Why do we celebrate events that we have no idea about or from where they originated?
Because of the Vatican's ruthless and greedy, money-making endeavours.
They have us all believing AND celebrating AND donating money to whatever they have dreamed up to keep us like, good little "sheep" in the flock - with the wool pulled firmly over OUR eyes.
We believe what we believe because it's all been part of our deceived civilization since the Vatican figured out a way to make money from it. That's not to say that deception was created by the Vatican, because it was not. Deception goes way, way back in time.
It's come to the point that people don't even CARE if it's all a fake celebration that worships some other deity which is totally unrelated to our religion.
People will accuse you of being an atheist or a devil worshipper if you don't follow the flock into the churches.
Am i an athiest?
(Long pause...)
Hmm. Well, i really do believe that we were created in the image of our creators.
None of the Bibles' characters describe what "that" image is.
I would think that Enoch, a man who had literally walked, side by side, in the "flesh", with the physical God (Father of Jesus) might of had an idea how God looked, so, he could say, "Yes, we were created in the image of God for i have walked with God and saw Him."
Enoch was a man who God considered worthy and righteous. Righteous enough to be taken up into Heaven, and he was shown many things in Heaven and even met the angels. Wow! What a privilege.
But...a human man was taken into the Heavens? Amazing! Didn't Enoch like, you know, lack oxygen?...didn't he freeze in those high altitudes?
So little is mentioned of Enoch in the Bible, though.
Hmmm, that's very odd. There was a book written by Enoch in those days in which he describes all he saw and learned whilst in the presence of God, as well as, daily details in Enoch's life. Well, actually, Enoch described many horrible things that he saw, and what he wrote about would have really screwed up the canonization of the Bible by The First Council Of Nicaea. And that is why The Book Of Enoch was forbidden to be part of the Bible. He gave too much information about what REALLY is, and who really were the gods of those times, and maybe still today.
If you read history of ancient civilizations, the times before when the great Catholic, Christian deception began, we learn that the Hebrew God (Yahweh), who becomes the Catholic God through "His" Son, Jesus, was, actually, a part of a group consisting of many "gods".
If you read about the Tower of Babel in the Torah, the Bible clearly shows that the gods were plural and not just one spiritual being as we are taught in church.
Of course, the Bibles, themselves, all refer to God as "us" in many passages. And seeing as the books of the Bible were inspired by the "Holy Spirit", i would think that the Holy Spirit would have known what to tell the scribes to write. Right? I mean, i am just having faith in what i have read in the Bible, and if they say "us", well, then, it must be more than one god.
I'm sure if those biblical books were written on a computer, back then, the Bible would be a flawless book of deception, as all the books would have been edited to say the same stories.
There were NO computers, back then (on earth), though.
Don't doubt me, please. I'm only telling you what the Book says.
Have a look and see for yourselves.
Here is the proof that the Bible says, us, instead of one God:
http://biblehub.com/genesis/11-7.htm
The big deception of the church is that we are "to have faith in God and the Bible", BUT actually, it's more like the church wants us to have faith in the deceptive organization called, the church.
They have us so fooled that we've become "fools". Much like the people who were tempted into idolatry when Moses supposedly went up the mountain (for forty days) to get those Ten Commandments. I mean really, the clergy, itself, disobeys almost all of the Commandments, if not all of them.
Who knows? Forty days might have been just long enough for an ancient man, like Moses, to carve out ten sentences into stone tablets.
But wait a minute, the Mighty Finger of God required forty days and forty nights to carve ten sentences into stone? I thought God created all the Heavens and earth and all the animals and creepy crawly thingys, and every tree and plant, and everything else (including Adam, who had TWO consecutive wives - not just Eve) in just six days.
Do they mean to say that the tablets required more time (forty days and night) than an entire galaxy and all it contains (six days) for God to complete?
It's easy to deceive, in print, with a story which tells us what happened BEFORE anyone was there to witness it all, and then say, it all took only six days. Who's to say any differently?
However, when there are human witnesses, as in the story of the Ten Commandments, it took God 40 days and nights?
Also, if we were created in the image of God, why did God appear as a "burning" bush to Moses?
I don't look like a burning bush, do you? I don't know ANYONE who looks like a burning bush or a bright light that's so bright we can't gaze upon it.
Whatever the Vatican can make money from, they'll deem it a religious event to get as many suckers into the churches as possible, all handing out dollars into the collection baskets.
Sad, but true.
Easter and it's origins. Have a look at this page.
There are many "origins of Easter" on the internet and i think many of them are right.
http://www.lasttrumpetministries.org/tracts/tract1.html
According to the historical events (not the Biblical ones) of the Babylonian Nimrod/Tammuz, and Ishtar, this video pretty much, lol SORT OF, illustrates why we (the deceived), mindlessly, celebrate Easter by eating ham.
