What a coincidence seeing this story! Although much more barbaric there is otherwise no difference. Women need food, shelter, medicine, clothing, they go freely and by their own choice to trade sex...you got money...here it is folks! The amount of money has nothing to do with it. It's about trading sex for money! Read-er-n-weep fellers! I will have nothing more to say on this subject...I am right, you are wrong, thank you very much! And don't blow a fuse if I don't respond to any ridiculous theory or explanation as to why the situations are different.

AND PLEASE READ THE WHOLE STORY WHERE IT SPEAKS OF "WOMEN" NOT GIRLS.

NAIROBI (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - African Union (AU) peacekeepers in Somalia routinely pay teenage girls for sex, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Monday.

The rights group said most of the incidents took place on AMISOM bases in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, where women come for medical care and to beg for food.

    SEX FOR FIVE DOLLARS

HRW also interviewed 14 displaced women and girls selling sex to AMISOM soldiers for around $5 a day. Sexual exploitation – the abuse of power or trust for sexual purposes – is in violation of their code of conduct.

The sex trade on AMISOM bases appears "routine and organized", HRW said.

"Somali women having paid sex with soldiers have been able to obtain AMISOM badges allowing them easy access in and out of what should be highly secure military zones," the report said.

Only two out of the 21 women and girls interviewed filed a complaint, for fear of reprisals, HRW said, while those having sex for money did not want to lose their main source of income.

"We take all allegations against AU Troops in Somalia very seriously, especially allegations of sexual abuse," AMISOM’s spokesman Eloi Yao told Thomson Reuters Foundation in an email.

"Any AMISOM personnel found guilty of any such crimes will be dealt with appropriately."

Nothing here speaks specifically to exploitation.
I'm sure some women won't have sex for money and find other ways to live.
Your article does not say that ALL women do this, SOME women CHOOSE this of their own free will.
CHOSE to do this = not exploitation.

So if the Camel master offers to pay $3 for them to clean up the Camel shit to make extra cash, is that exploitation too?
By your logic, if a woman is forced to take a job of any kind to feed or house themselves it is always exploitation.
Almost everyone will seek a job to pay the bills, not everyone will choose to work in the sex industry.
So in your world women who are lawyers, doctors, labourers or models are all exploited by their need to make money.
Why are men not exploited then? Aren't male escort exploited too?

Some will choose to do manual labour for money, others will have sex for money.
I guarantee you the ones having sex for money will have a much better life than the ones cleaning up camel shit for their living.
If the women are 100% willing to have sex and there is no one forcing them to do it, how is it exploitation.

And why does it matter if it is $5 or $500? It does not matter.
Possibly $5 can probably buy the same amount of stuff, as $500 might buy in Canada (throw in all the taxes and other fees)

Also choosing a situation in Nairobi to prove your point across the world does not work.
Nigeria is one of the most backwards nations on earth, it is not representative of the subject.
Any statistician would discard this situation as outside standard behaviour, it is not representative of most cases.
In this case it is "Sexual Abuse" mainly because it is against the rules of the organization.

Also if you are going to quote a news source you MUST provide a link to the source.
Otherwise you are committing plagiarism and copyright infringement.
Also it allows us to check how much you changed the story to suit your needs.

What about women exploiting men for their money, that never happens ever....

I didn't write the article. Human Rights Watch (HRW) did. I didn't call it exploitation, HRW did...I only agreed with the article. I didn't change any of the story, I pasted the portion pertaining to "women" not girls.

We are supposed to be the "civilized" part of the world. If it's wrong in Africa...it's likely wrong here.

Source of the story...I found it in a headline in yahoo news. Send in the law...they can arrest me!

Everyone is tempted to the "Dark Side" some choose to go.

Anyway I don't think this will be settled until Bugs Bunny weighs in here.

Please put the link to your articles, it is not you only who could be liable.
It is fine to paraphrase the specifics that pertain to your argument.

Plus it is proper etiquette and shows respect for your source.
Else you are exploiting yahoo news for you own purposes, however that is not the source it is Reuters via Yahoo as you show in the first post.

personally I was only keeping myself occupied for a bit when I stumbled on this article. I'm in Edmonton, i should be in Frankfurt by now. I'm not very happy!

Thanks for the lesson on links and sources and possible legalities. It's not something I ever considered as this is the only chat forum I've ever spent time on. I don't even steal music! I purchase it! So truthfully, I'm not very informed in that aspect.

Can't wait for Bugsy! That wouldn't be you would it? :-)
