Can you imagine the backlash if WalMart said that they would only sell to white middle aged males with preferential priucing? They would be hauled in front of the Ontraio Human Rights Commission and slapped with the largest fine ever seen under discriminatory practices.

Hi Shelby, is it safe to say you got the idea for this topic by reading the "versace" thread? I believe anyone in this service providing industry has the right to have preferences. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. What I dislike is a girl who'll take your donation but doesn't give you your money's worth because she doesn't like your looks, or your age. I don't think anyone has brought up the issue of who is paying who. I think if an escort wants to pick and choose, that's fine, but how about maybe a discount to those she finds more attractive. I for one would be willing to pay a premium for someone I am really turned on by. I am in the wedding business and although I find it more enjoyable working with a beautiful bride, I do not turn away business based on her attractiveness or lack thereof.

Understand that I am not calling Shelby a racist. Her premise is however. The underlying statement - to paraphrase - is "I will only see this type of person [be it black, caucasian, oriental, age]". If that is not a racist statement, then all my years in empolyment equity and diversity were wasted. No matter how we justify it, that it is a business decision, etc. That is still wrong. Sure, it's in my contract--sex with bride, no charge for services. Seriously, of course not but if someone chooses to escort then sometimes you have to take the less than ideal in order to make a living (after all, it's only an hour or so). The idea that an escort can select the type of person she wishes to see is by very definition prejudicial. Furthermore, it seems at the onset that an escort should be willing to offer her services to everyone, regardless of religion, sex, race, colour, etc. To refuse service because of the statusd of the client, in any shape or form is prejudicial. In all practicality however, any escort who engages in this type of selectivity only hurts herself. When word gets out that this is going on, she is at risk of losing more business and she may herself become the target of the very group or groups she seeks to distance herself from. I am a black shemale and I do not take the issues of racism and prejudice and racism lightly. I realize that we all have preferences but in any business, we must move beyond this and accept people with the idea of equality.
