Well I have been in Thai villages for boys 18th birthday and this certainly did not take place.
Bases on the moral prudeness that most of the Thai population are known for, I wouldn't see this happening at all.
They are all Buddhist which teaches people to be very private and restrained about pleasures of the flesh.

Bangkok was not named by this, as this name was coined by foreigners and not by Thais at all.
The word "Bang" means town or city on a river. "kok" could mean many things.
The real name of Bangkok in English Phonetics is:

This is longest city name in the world.

The only thing i know of that faces 18 year old boys in Thailand is mandatory military service.
I know this would not involve maidens playing with your knob.

It is more likely that something like this would only happen to foreign boys in Thailand on their 80th birthday. Of course the chances of anything popping up with great force would be slim.
