  • Where can I find some help?

Where would I find someone to help me while I'm transitioning? I'm sure it would always help to learn the process from someone who's has already done or is doing it!

Transition is like a ski hill. Even though we all get down to the same place, it is the path we chose to get there that is what makes us different. No path is right or better than another, it is just better for you and no one can tell you what is best for you except you.

And there's many different forms of help. Professional counseling, help on hormone therapy and finding the right medical resources, help on hair, makeup, clothing, help on your voice, help on knowing what human rights / legal rights you have, but most importantly, where are you - not all of these resources may be local to where you live.

To get help you need to define your goals.
Are you looking to go all the way to Surgeries, if so how have you come to this determination?
If you are thinking this then you should be able to get a recommendation from a family doctor to a Psychiatrist that supports Trangenders and talk with them. Talking with other TGs won't help you so much in determining yourself.

Don't let pressure or progress of other TGs let you make your decisions.
Make them yourself, try it out a little at a time and make sure there is no barriers for you.
Some may say go on hormones but if you don't do it with a doctors advice and supervision you are not necessarily doing yourself a favour. Taking hormone replacements without the proper testing can be dangerous. Nobody actually knows what these treatments will do to people years into the future.

Always make sure you rule out the sexual side of it and don't feel that everyone has to go "All the Way".
There seems to be too much pressure amongst TGs about being at a certain level to a "valid" transgender.
You are only valid to yourself, so be true to yourself.

Some TGs can be crossdressers, some will keep their junk and other will have surgery.
Others will do nothing after exploration, it all depends on you.

Still best advice is seek out professional help.
Any decent sized city has doctors that specialize in Transgender support.
