Technical Support - Activation of Forum Extras

I am hoping one or more computer literate readers, can advise me how to resolve this current glitch.

Currently I am unable to activate any of the 'smilies ,post preview, or spell check features of the forum. The administration has offered assistance but seemingly not the resolution.

If you have knowledge as to how I may over come the difficulty.

This may be related to 3rd party software installed on your PC. Certain firewall or anti spyware utilities can disable pop ups (Spell Checker is a pop up) and banner ads (Emoticons can be seen as type of banner ad) by default. Zone Alarm Suite, for example, will disable certain functionalities of this site. Fortunately you do have option to selectively disallow blocking of websites and other customization within these programs. As well, IE or Firefox extensions can produce problems you are seeing too.

The trick is to identify which program is causing your frustration.

Best suggestion would be to look at what you've recently installed to when these problems first surfaced. Easiest method to identify is to disable program you think may be the problem, then, reload the affected web page. From there, you just need to go adjust these settings.

I'm indebted to the 'dept of redundancy dept for the patient intervention given to resolving my difficulty. I would also like to thank those who, wanted to but were unable to assist because they lacked , like myself, the necessary computer literacy . In any case, I'm back in the fray !
