Canada is mainly better because there is almost no gun violence and a fraction of the murders.
Plus people are a little more friendly and polite.

Most healthcare is cheap but wait times are ridiculous. If you are sick you might want to pay rather than wait.
But in Canada you generally cannot pay yet, so you have to wait.

Most of the unions in Canada are government, and we have a lot of government.

Taxes are brutal on everyone, i am middle class and i pay almost 50%
In the USA I would only pay about 32%
Canada also has a Federal sales tax of 7% and most provinces have additional sales tax up to 14%.

$10.45 Canadian is the same as $7.25 US, so really no difference.
Cost of living is higher in Canada everything costs more than the USA, EVERYTHING.

The USA is looking to put less people in jail, while Canada is looking to put more people in jail.
Since the USA often copies Canada, our government is still copying the Republican government of 10 years ago.

Most Americans could not afford to live in Canada. Final. Yes we have higher min wage, Medicare, more unions, and less crime....but we pay for that. Most of us face a 50% tax bracket. Then everything in Quebec costs 15% more due to GST and PST. So, you lost 50-65% of your purchasing power. Factor in all the taxes home owners face (property tax, school tax, water tax) and it quickly becomes much less. An American making 45 grand in Canada will have less money and assets than If he did the same job in the US.

Compare housing or anything...the facts are simple. The cost of living in Canada, is much higher than the USA.

It could go up to 10% at any time, especially if the PCs get another majority.

Agree with most of what you said dom. The fact that we have many more people has a lot to do with much of what you said. One thing I would like to disagree with you on is your statement about the USA is willing to invade other countries. That is true but that happens mostly under Republican presidents. Like right now, the republicans running for president would rather go to war with Iran than sign a treaty with them. I would like to say with we are both fortunate for being able to live in either the US or Canada.

Odd blanket statement.. not sure if you're are trolling or not. Or how you are quantifying any of that.

Media production (music, games, tv, movies) in America is like a 10-headed monster, with backers and side-producers and sister-studios, it's difficult to say what actually is American in the end. Many television shows are made in Canada (either from a POST-fx studio, and/or filmed, most generally in BC, but the odd one, like Hannibal is in Toronto).

Actors? Directors? Writers? Plenty originate from Canada, the list would be exhaustive. Like who get's claim to Avatar for instance? James Cameron is Canadian. Most of the filming and FX in New Zealand. The lead actor is a Brit. The Distribution company was founded by an Aussie.

Video Games? Again, odd. Most studios are an international effort. EA has Bioware which was 100% canadian, Ubisoft has I think 3 studios in Canada now. Never mind the artists who relocate from Canada to these spread out studios, just like the rest of media industry.
