With the success of Disney bringing Iron Man to life, the Marvel cinematic universe has come to life. Loved characters such as Thor, Hulk and Captain America have come to life on the big screen and the stories build upon each other.

Rights to characters between studios, as well as the ability to bring justice to these characters are often points of heated conversation. For example, Fox recently got permission to produce 2 mutant based TV shows based off the X-Men. One being Legion. In return, they apparently have gotten back the rights to certain cosmic characters they will need for Guardians of The Galaxy as well as Infinity War. Galatus and Silver Surfer being important to the storyline.

What about DC? They seem to have dropped the ball since Dark Knight. Superman was...meh. Dawn of Justice is....not that good. Flash was a good show...but then DC announced that their TV and Movies are not part of the same universe. Personally...I think this is a mistake. I love knowing that events in the movies have effects everywhere. The battle of New York from avengers 1 was important to rebuilding NYC in daredevil.

Whats your opinion on Deadpool? What about the new Xmen movie? Maybe Civil War is your thing.

    Loved Deadpool

Deadpool was AMAZING cant say enough good things about it. thats how a movies is made when people care about source material and stay true to the comics.

Fox doesnt own guardians Disney and marvel do. fox has the mutant side of the marvel universe the dropped the ball on Fantastic Four but the Xmen movies have gotten good again and deadpool was AMAZING. even though Marvel? disney doesnt own the rights to all their characters they been really god with all the tie-ins with agents of shield and the movies, and even thought sony owns spiderman it looks like they are sharing with Disney for now

DC i dont know whats wrong with them WB owns all of their character so they dont have to worry about which heroes they can use but all of their movies have been terrible except for the dark knight. their animated movies and tv series are the only things that are really good.

Both Civil War and Apocalypse look pretty good. I just read the Age of Apocalypse storyline last week (thank you Marvel unlimited) so I'm getting pretty excited for the X-Men flick, and presently I'm working my way towards Civil War.

Deadpool was really dope and I'm it opens the door for more R-rated marvel movies. There's no way you can do an Old Man Logan adaptation or something without it being R-rated.

I haven't seen Batman vs. Superman yet, but it looked...mediocre. I'll see it sometime next week. I haven't seen the Man of Steel yet either so I'll probably watch that beforehand even though I know it's not supposed to be great. Snyder was probably not a good choice to put in charge of rebooting their cinematic universe. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for Suicide Squad either. At least it looks like they're trying new spins on a few characters.

DC is/was just way to late to the party. They dont really have the cast of big name characters in the universe as Marvel does, and everything DC thats been done, isnt up to par. (Green Lantern, Superman, Batman) Although i will say some of the Batman were hit and miss, so there's that. Suicide Squad has potential. But what else does? Wonder Woman? lol....Nothing really.

          James Cameron Spider-man Treatment

          What would have been...

Back in the 90s, when Spider-man was all tied up in a legal web, James Cameron wrote a treatment to bring Spidey to the big screen.

His plans were to have either Leonardo Dicaprio or Ben Affleck play Spidey. The original treatment was loaded with naughty words (lol) and if left as is, would probably have had an R rating.

Here is the James Cameron version of Spider-man (initial promo art & treatment), if anyone cares to read it:

          http://www.teako170.com/cameron.html

Sony paid him $6 million for it, but it was never used.

As for the Sinister Six ... it looks like that movie IS on hiatus since Marvel obtained rights to Spider-man from Sony. I'm speculating that the next Spider-man movie with this new guy, will feature the Sinister Six.

Doc Ock, Mysterio, Vulture, Kraven, Electro, Sandman ... hired by The Kingpin.

That may actually be a pretty good movie if they pull it off!

Just watched Deadpool last night, and the movie was funny as hell. Haven't laughed so much in a long time.

I honestly don't think DC knows what they are doing. Frank Miller did the Death in the Family storyline. It was teased in the trailers to sups vs bats but wasn't really explored. The problem with DC characters is their power levels. Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash are so overpowered. It's hard to feel they are really ever threatened.

As for Rated R, I had watched Jessica Jones before Deadpool....for some reason I left bored. Sure, it was funny and entertaining but the storyline seemed to drag.

Speaking of Frank Miller, after watching Daredevil season 2, seems like marvel is going down the "Born Again" DD storyline from 86.

I hope marvel gets a hold of the Skrulls, Surfer and Galatus. It's hard to see a marvel cosmic universe without them. Ms. Marvel kinda needs the Skrulls.

I haven't been a huge fan of all of them, but they are all competently done (something DC has yet to master).
I totally agree with you here. The marvel stories are complete. DC seems just to be throwing characters onto the screen and let their Godlike Characters fix it. Moreover, it just seems like marvel knows when to release certain characters or stories. I like the fact that Doctor Strange is coming. He opens the door for the mystic side of Marvel, bringing Characters such as Blade and Ghost Rider into the MCU.

Spiderman returning opens NYC. Daredevil, Luke Cage and the rest of the TV series now have Spiderman. As well, as Kingpin who has not only been a torn in Spidey's side but is one of Marvel's most complete villains along with Loki.

The return of Spiderman to Marvel, probably brings back Norman Osbourne. Being the Green Goblin is only a small part of his character, as he runs Oscorp and is a member of the Dark Avengers, basically Marvels version of Suicide Squad.

Im just shocked that DC is not exploring their written work like marvel. So far in Marvel we have seen, Original stories, Iron Man brought us Extremis, Captain America is about to deal with Civil war, age of Ultron, Ragnorok and the infinity stones are everywhere leading us to Thanos and Infinity Wars. Where are the DC stories we love? This is what DC is lacking....cohesion between all their stories.

Did I like everything Marvel did? No. I was not impressed with Jesscia Jones. Kilgrave is a Daredevil rogue gallery and I was expecting DD....I was disappointed. daredevil season 2 has too much drama and peaks at the wrong point....didnt enjoy that. Iron Man 3....wtf? I can't really get into the Thor stuff....no idea why. He works great as an Avenger, kinda drags on his own...maybe because he like DC characters are too over powered. guardians of the Galaxy is fun, I can't get into agents of shield.

                      Original Green Goblin

Here's the way Sam Raimi wanted the Green Goblin to appear in his first Spider-man movie. It was a lot more faithful to the comic book.

Unfortunately, Willem Defoe didn't like it and insisted on a helmet concept instead. Which is why it ended up looking so stupid, like something from Transformers.

let's see how Suicide Squad does, if DC messes up that, well it will be a long uphill battle against Marvel,

I am amazed how well Dead Pool has done, just because of the R rating,

Marvel seems like they can do nothing wrong right now.

It would be Nice to see a Wolverine / Hulk Movie (Incredible Hulk 181, 1974) , before Hugh Jackman packs it in, Marvel biggest sellers for decades.

I'm shocked this hasn't been considered yet.

Well, since Deadpool was a mutant and owned by fox....does Fanastic Four count?

This would be complicated. Marvel doesn't actually own the rights to these characters. Fox owns the Xmen and universal owns the rights to the hulk.

im not sure who owns the story. Since it falls under a Hulk title, it might be universal meaning they would need the permission from Fox to use wolverine
