  • UBC Survey: Communication Technologies, Sex Workers and Clients

    Fellow Forum Members,

I came across this survey on Backpage Vancouver and completed the online portion this evening.

I think it is an excellent opportunity for SPs and clients to particpate in the survey in order to 'voice our opinions' which may help to change the antiquated 'prostitution' laws in Canada. I have also requested to be interviewed via telephone about this topic.

The link to the survey is below, if you are interested in reviewing the information about it, the researchers and completing it. The results of it will be posted online later this year.

Thanks bigmtsl for bringing this UBC survey to this Forum’s attention.

I have just completed the online portion of this survey myself but have not opted (yet) to do the personal interview though I am tempted and will probably follow bigmtsl’s lead. IMO this forum (TGirlForums) is the tops in it’s field but I was surprised it is not mentioned anywhere in the survey as one of the sources of information used by pooners like you and I. For that reason, when and wherever I was asked for any personal input I made sure to make mention of this forum at every opportunity.

I would strongly recommend that every member here check out and complete this survey in the hopes that someday in the future something will be done to correct the legal problems in the Canadian sex-trade that we all (both workers and clients) have to contend with as we try to enjoy our personal lives!

I agree Toban. The more research that is done on 'prostitution,' to use the legal term, in order to eventually legalize the 'oldest profession' the better it will be for all of us, clients and SPs.

BTW, Shemale Canada was mentioned in one of the questions as an example of a website, along with craigslist, backpage and half a dozen other sites. The Forum was not mentioned as it is not, technically, a site that is advertised on like SC.

I am hoping they call me for a follow up interview so I can elaborate more on some of the questions, laws, websites etc. Will post here if called for the follow up interview.

Someone should try the conversational interview.
I'll go for the online survey.

After I completed the online survey I sent them an email with my contact information, that I had completed the survey and was willing to be interviewed. Haven't heard a thing from them.
