So what do you thinks guys & girls, been there a few times, enjoy the place but I don't feel like going back because of the music, I'm in my forties and the average age of the guys in there is mid 30's to mid 40's...I don't think there's many in that age group that enjoys an evening of only techno/dance music...

Amanda, I know for a fact that I will show up way more often and I know a very well know shemale that will also show up more often if you bring us a little bit of rock music...Please

Comon guys...let Amanda know what music you want to hear...as usual she'll please us!!!

Cheers and For Those About to Rock, (We Salute You)

A good DJ knows how to read a crowd and try to balance out all the variables.
Starting a club and experimenting with DJs has a bit of a learning curve. In the end, there is no way to please everyone, but it is my job to make sure we have a DJ that pleases the most people as possible.
I have let the regular DJ that was playing on Thursday nights for the past four months go. He was good sometimes, and really bad other times. Sorry it took me so long to find someone better, but now I feel confident that I have.
I hope you will come by and meet our new DJs - DJ Carma is a wonderful DJ and she will be doing almost every Thursday night, as well, DJ Nik Red who has been with us since we opened, will be doing the odd week here and there. Don't hesitate to talk to them and tell them what you like.
And also remember, the Diamond Girls pick their own music, so when they are go-go dancing they will have more fun.
          Thanks.

hey just4you: one thing i don't like doing is going to a dj and saying "hey could you please play rock" or "could you please play this"
                        that is your job
so don't hesitate to chat with the dj next time you are down.
this thursday we have DJ Nik Red, this was a personal request from Allanah Starr, as she really liked Nik last time she was in town when she visited us on a Saturday night.
hope to see everyone this week, i will be working at the Lounge Tuesday night and of course at Goodhandy's on Thursday.

                            Re: Music at Goodhandy's

I know, I am a little older than most of the TG's at the club. My music tastes have certainly changed since i was in my 20's. I used to be strictly classic rock, but u know, I would be quite happy, never to hear the Beatles, Stones or Stepenwolf, the rest of my life. Thank god for community radio.CKLN, CIUT, etc.
I know the girls have specific tastes and enjoy dancing to their favorite songs, but really we should cater to the men, who come to see the girls. They are older and most of them never grew up on techno, rap and hiphop.

If u want sexy music to dance to, that both the girls and guys might enjoy, dig up some old sexy early 70's Funk, 60's R&B and Soul. And lets not forget about Motown, the original stuff, not the butchered renditions, recently done with songs like Popa Was A Rolling Stone. etc

Yes it is a club for the girls to come out too, but how many girls would show up, if there wasn't any guys there. And the older guys, spend more money!

                              Re: Music at Goodhandy's

I am a professional nightclub DJ, this is how I make a living now and for the past few years. People who are complaining about the music do not understand how bars and clubs work. The music played is to create the atmosphere desired by the management to maximize business in the management's point of view. That's it, the bar is not there to provide you personal entertainment, no one is in business to loose money. IF it was intened that everyone hears the music they specifically wanted there would be a juke box not a DJ in the place. That's why people can make requests to the DJ, but requests can only be played if they fit into the program. IF all requests had to be played they would be demands, not requests anymore and the DJ becomes a human juke box.
To sum it up Goodhandys is a place to meet the "special ladies", so music should be played to ensure the majority of the ladies will be happy and will want to return. NO ONE cares what you guys ask for unless it fits into the program, guys are coming the ladies regrdless what music is played and will continue to do so as long as there is enough of them. You can't please every one all the time but you can please most of the people most of the time. Unless the music is driving people away in masses and keeps the ladies coming back, there is no need to change it.
