    Awkward Question Time!

How does one differentiate between a TGirl as opposed to merely a CD or TV? When they're dressed to the nines, sometimes it's really hard to tell, and that's great... All the power to you if you can pull it off. But when it comes time to decide on whether or not to make a pass at or hit on someone, how do you ensure you're not accidentally falling for a dude in panties as opposed to an actual tranny?

On one hand I always think it's better to be honest and upfront and let them know what exactly you're looking for, so there are no disappointments for anyone... But on the other hand, is that rude? Does that come off as homophobic or picky or mean, to say that while you're interested in a TG, you don't share the same feelings for a CD etc? Am I making sense? Anyone? Anyone?

Wow good question there are a few ive seen at goodhandys who id swear were fulltime tgirls but was wrong, and visa versa, some cds are so passable cause its a huge fantasy for him to pass in public and live the dream if only for a few hrs.my opinion is a tgirl goes through all the mones, lazers and surguries to become or maybe forget who they once were and there are tgirls who are so lucky aka lexi who doesnt need to do anything to pass and be beautifull, its a crazy thing trying to figure out who is who and what catagory they fall in,im just not smart enough to figure it out so i dont,.i quess the smart thing to do is ask them if there a cd or a shemale if he or she is a cd they wont be offended and if there a fulltime girl well lets just say that will be the last conversation youll have with her lol

hi lisa, girl you did a great job on ur transformation!

well, amanda once said,' "transgender is the umbrella term of all people who present themselves as women..'

heres some quick pointers: shemales are usually the top, transexuals are mostly bottom, specially the pre-op ones, transvestites are the young generation or those people who are just starting up, and crossdressers are not full-time,its just a fun thing. BUT to become a shemale/transexual, we all go through each stage, i was a tv once

but its all in the heart, pasable or not, femininity comes from within.

        Tranny lingo 101
Warning: The following terms are unstable! They offer no hope of containing every type of gender expression or identity that exists. They vary in their usage from place to place. Moreover, a single person can identify one way at a certain stage of their life, then evolve into a different identity. I’ve identified in almost all of the following ways:

        Trans-SEX-u-al (TS):
Someone who desires to be accepted as the opposite gender. This term is usually associated with changing one’s body (i.e., taking hormones, having plastic surgery or a sex-change operation). People usually assume there are two genders we can belong to and tend to divide us into…

        MTF: Male-to-female, or…

        FTM: Female-to-male.
(Your starting gender is what your doctor told your parents when you were born.) Often, people also make a distinction between…

        Pre-op (pre-operative):
Transsexuals who have not had a sex change and… Post-op (post-operative): Trannies who have had a sex change. Some transsexuals decide they don’t want gender reassignment surgeries, so they don’t define themselves this way. Some call themseleves “non-op.” Others think that an operation is something you do, not something you are. Famous transsexuals include Candy Darling, Dana International and Tula, who posed for Playboy.

        Cross-dresser (CD):
They want to dress as the opposite sex, but don’t change their bodies. They can be gay or straight. This group gets a little screwed up when the guy from Green Day starts wearing eyeliner or when Avril Lavigne wears ties. No one knows what is male or female clothing anymore. Dazzling examples: Marlene Dietrich, Frida Kahlo and Boy George.

        Trans-VEST-ite (TV):
They cross-dress, because it’s a sexual turnon for them. Some have fetishes for certain clothing, like silky lingerie or patent leather red stilettos. Others find that simply being dressed up in a different gender gets them hot and bothered. Examples: film director Ed Wood, Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

        SHE-male:
This is generally how the sex industry refers to trannies. Lots of trannies don’t like this term because of that. Nonetheless, you generally need big tits and male genitalia to be considered a shemale. There is definitely a shemale look – lots of eyeliner, dripping lip gloss, big hair, tits, attitude and a dick. Famous shemales include tranny porn stars Gia Darling and Allanah Starr.

Drag queen (DQ): This term used to refer to a performer who dressed up as a parody of a woman and lip-synched her heart out to show tunes. Then queens like Alpha and Heaven Lee came along and decided not to satirize feminine beauty. Instead, they embodied these ideals and made us gag on their glamour. Lena Love (a genetic female) and Tulsi (a TS you’d swear was a genetic female) showed us that gay men aren’t the only ones who can work a song – and the audience – to a frenzy. Famous drag queens: RuPaul, Dame Edna and Harvey Fierstein in Torch Song Trilogy.

        Trans-GEN-dered (TG):
Someone who breaks society’s rules of gender. This is an umbrella term for every type of tranny listed on this page, and every kind of tranny that doesn’t fit into one of these categories neatly. Famous examples of transgender people include cosmetic surgery aficionado Amanda Lepore, performance artist Kevin Aviance, and Pete Burns from Dead or Alive.

        Tranny:
Short form for any of the terms above and below. Americans sometimes say “transy.” Both are considered colloquial.

        Trans person:
Formal or politicized word for tranny.

        T-girl: Tranny-girl.
This word also comes from a common expression among trannies: “What’s the T, girl?” The “T” stands for the truth – in other words, whatever juicy gossip a girl has to offer. .

You make total sense! I am very much attracted and love women in every shape and form! I am not the least bit attracted to men! I do not like CDs and tvs. To me these are just men dressed as women! Transexuals , T-girls, Shemales or whatever you may call it , on the other hand turn me on! Why? I don't know! These are the ones that have breasts and their bodies are perfectly shaped like women! To me I see them as girls with penises! I cant see them as a guy, especially if they sound like a woman too! Take for instance Vanity, she ( I say she) is beautiful , sexy and sounds and acts as a woman. It is a fact that the majority of her fans are heterosexual men! There is something about a girl with a penis that men secretly find desirable! For this , I do not consider myself gay! I can carry on healthy heterosexual relationships, because I sexually desire women. I have never been with a transsexual, nor I don't think I ever will! It is a fantasy to me! Am I being ignorant or nasty? I appologize to anyone to whom I may offend. What do you think? If you are transsexual, do you find straight men desiring you ? Explain to me if I'm wrong.

There is another term called "Androgyny"...androgynous persons who possess both feminine and masculine traits in them (in traditional world, we know the Hijras in India). They are literally best of both world in my opinion. Those pretty young "male" androgynous who are good looking, born with sensuality, gorgeous look and body, if they want to, definitely can be successful as boy and shemale escorts at the same time and have double income.

If these androgynous people are blessed with good brain as well...they can play with their sexuality up to the next level that most people only can dream about it.

Gender division (male and female roles) is created by the society, actually most of us were born with both masculine and feminine traits. So why don't we enjoy it?

If you can't tell the difference , what does it matter which label is attached to them? If you find her sexually attractive, then go for it.
As others have mentioned, all the Tgirls pass through the 'phases'  . If you can overcome your homophobia you might just enjoy yourself.
Two of the most beautiful and passable 'Shemales' in Toronto, both of whom are very highly rated on this site, have not and do not intend to take hormones,or have breast implants, or hip implants or lip enhancement or remove their cocks.Their bodies are exactly as 'God' created them. Are they to be shunned because they do not meet the criteria for a label that is homo- acceptable?
you're only as sick as your secrets.

It has nothing to do with homophobia (not for me) and everything to do with personal taste... But I wholeheartedly agree that if you and the other individual get along well, then it's already a good start regardless.
