Fortunately for you Amyiaa you are now operating in a much more sane country {TGirlForums excluded} where, in general, prostitution is LEGAL. MY thoughts as you asked for: Live your life freely and without fear while you are here with us i.e. unless you return to the US to carry on working there.

Those reports you posted should cause us all a great sense of relief that we are now here in Canada where that kind of harrassment does not take place, and not in the US but IN Canada, where as you must know, the act of prostitution itself is LEGAL.

There is a small clinker though, in that solicitation in public for the purposes of prostitution is a Criminal Offence [I discovered this to be a fact one evening in Winnipeg when I was out for a stroll on a warm muggy evening, was foolish enough to begin talking with a very friendly young lady, who happened to be "wired" and so I ended up in court]. I have since had my conviction pardoned so I can travel to the US.

Print ads are not considered to be "solicitation" either, nor are hotel rooms, private residences off limits, but then there is still the "bawdy house" laws remaining on the books and which the police still use to go after brothels, massage parlours etc.

          Re: Online Prostitution Arrest

"Communicating in Public for the purpose of ......" is an actual charge in the Criminal Code of Canada. It is interpreted to mean that even a wink or a nod or a wiggling of the index finger (as in come on over here and see me) has been enough in some cities to merit a ticket. Even such a ticket is not a very serious offense. But generally, in larger cities there seems to be considerable leniency toward the street trade, at least until the neighbours complain and then the police will try to clean it out of that particular area by charging a few girls. There is no big production made of it though as is seen in US TV shows like Cops etc.

Now Amyiaa you can feel free to work without all those worries.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, mate ... but the US no longer recognizes our "Pardons". I got hasseled at the border last year due to an arrest that happened in 1979. I was arrested back then but not convicted so after 30 minutes of grilling they did let me into the country. One of their questions was whether I had ever been granted a pardon, and was told by the officer that the USA no longer recognizes Canadian pardons.

It was in the news this week ... since January 2007, 30,000 people have been turned away from the US border for minor offences dating back to the 1970s. If you have the slightest conviction, you can no longer enter Bushland. You can thank their "Department of Homeland Stupidity" for this.

Yes I am already aware of that ruling. That is pretty scary, but nevertheless will still try when I feel like going south.
