Let me at the outset make it perfectly clear, I'm not writing this at the behest of the TGIRL ADMINISTRATOR . But I am making this short appeal on behalf of all posters who value these Boards. I hasten to add no member enlisted my aid to make a comment on their behalf or, on behalf of the Administrator.
If we wish to present our news and views through this media we must do so bearing in mind, all members enjoy the same rights and privileges , the same protections , and are bound by the same rules of use. We all know the house rules, summed up best in the old but wise saying,
"TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WISH TO BE TREATED" (not verbatim)
Challenges thrown out, questioning our intelligence , competence , knowledge , often test our patience to the limit. Some of us are very adept at sweeping these aside will little difficulty. Others will reply aggressively with all terms and phrases and yet remain within the rules. Generally, written exchanges, expressions, opinions and suggestions do not infringe upon the house rules.
A small percentage however , for whatever reason, deliberately introduce threads they know are 'challenging the right of another member to use this facility'. These persons should not continue to enjoy membership privileges. Those who print outright falsehoods about another, those who seek to injure the good name of another, and/or those who use the Board for fraudulent purposes, attempt to destroy the very principles written into its founding purpose. That this will no longer be tolerated is patently understandable.
The administrator has pointed out, rather forcefully at times, that persons who misuse these Boards in any manner not in keeping with posted rules are subject to immediate penalty, not excluding membership expulsion. Not an unreasonable expectation for those who continually challenge the authority of the Administrator. I believe this is a privately operated forum. Exclusive control of its operations is a given.
The foregoing is my viewpoint.
