I have been online since 98 and have seen some major changes in the way things are handled and I too find it wrong that girls can not call themselves what they wish to call themselves. We are in a group called ?TGIRLS? there are many terms for us but in the end it should be the persons choice on what term works for them. Girls stop getting you?re pumped up asses out of shape over something so stupid as a ?title? at least there not calling us/you ?he-she?

It is MY choice on what I call myself and where I choice to use that term. But you will find that on most sites the girls who do not live full time as a woman or the girls that are not working in the adult world look down at the girls that choice that type of lifestyle. I mean really look down on us, like calling us names or calling out what we do in chat rooms and trying to have us removed for just using the term ?Shemale?. I am sorry but most times it is girls who do not pass as woman everyday and who are bitter that we are able to live our life as woman.

It really is funny that they think it is o.k to tell me I have to change my term ?Shemale? or I will be kicked out of the room. But if I was to tell them to change there name to ?Shemale? it would be wrong and in reality would just be silly. Who gives anyone the right to tell anyone else what they should be called. Look around baby there is no difference on the inside as to what & who we are.

I give employment to the Trans world and yet I am looked down on for what I choice to do with my life & my business. Girls we need to grow up and get with the times here, stop bitching over stupid things and stop making fools of yourselves and start talking about things that matter in the world, what we are called by ourselves is the last thing we should worry about, we have more battles that could be won by standing together, like that will ever happen?

I never said anyone who uses the term shemale should be kicked out, I said the EXACT opposite. I said as it is a term popularized by the adult entertainment industry, and as this is primarily an escort review forum then if you don't like the term Shemale you can go somewhere else.

If I had a problem with the sex trade I wouldn't be here, and as I am full time I found it laughable that Lisa found herself so much more important in her oppinion then I obviously deserve.

I support what you're saying Tasha, although I think you might have misunderstood what I wrote. This all started with me saying that all trans people have rights, and gave a link. i also stated that i personally found Shemale a derogatory term(To me it sounds the same as he-she.) Everyone is entitled to their own view on things, and it is only a word after all.

Thanks Rose, maybe my post came across like I was going on what or Lisa was talking about but to be honest I jumped over most of it because when two TGIRLS fight nothing really comes out of it that helps or contributes to the topic. I personally think escorting, porn, etc. has done more good for the trans community then harm. Anything that displays trans people as more then freaks can't be bad. I'm curious. What rights are you suggesting? T Women are human beings just as everyone else. They have the same basic rights as everyone in society that is of course depending where you live.

The right to vote
The right to work
The right to an education

Are we suggesting to incorporate more rights? I briefly touched on this a while ago. Like, should t women be legally considered a 3rd gender in Canada...but you know what...let's take it further.

Should t women have the right to go through the full transformation process WITHOUT having to go through the whole physical and psycho therapy processes that take years to finish because as it is thats whats currently required

Should t women be given special privileges to help them through the transformation processes?

Now for me. I'll help anyone regardless of the situation but what rights are we really looking at?

I think transsexuals should be subject the same discrimination based on looks that all women face. If you are an attractive transsexual you should receive preferential treatment, if you are an ugly transsexual you receive sub-standard treatment like all ugly women. Then you would be on par with all women.

The porn industry has its likely advantages and disadvantages to shemales. Yes it makes people more aware of them and thus more accepted, but on the other hand it now becomes many sexual fantasies to others meaning that most that don't want to be prostitutes may be mistreated. This of course is not always the case. I would say, start putting t-girls in sitcoms by giving them a serious role, this will enhance the public's image of t-girls. Remember, the media is the medium so if they use it properly then it can do great good for the t-girl community. Then again, most of the people who make those decisions regarding any media will likely be some extremist in their religion and against the diversity of the world. In short, t-girls deserve the respect like anyone else, but the public as a whole must accept it and this is usally achieved through a public medium such as newpapers and television. Anyone with me on this one?

It may be very different in the big city but here in my hometown im treated with a great deal of respect and have many many close friends who dont look apon me as a shemale but only as a stay at home mom who looks hotter then most genetic girls only dream of.most people who know i am a tgirl are very supportive and ask alot of questions about my transition.i am a firm believer that if ya smile and appear very genuine than you will not get a hard time from anyone.and if someone makes a comment then ill walk right up to them and get right in there face and ask them if theres a problem not only because i love to confront people but i do it mostly cause i love watching there eyes get very wide while there squirming trying to find the right words to say lol

Yes, in principle I can agree with you, transgenders of all sorts deserve to be shown respect, as do all humans, however this is a very tricky subject to deal with. Unfortunately, those of us here do not see the transgendered in the same light as the general public - we are definitely biased in our opinions. Outside of a few on this forum, I am certain that all the straight among us already see the transgendered as a very special and highly regarded group of girls. Let?s not forget too, the group of F to M transgendered who I am sure have the same difficulties in the community at large.

Personally, I feel that anyone willing to go through all that these girls have to go through to attain their goal of gender change deserves a great deal of consideration, support and respect. To go through with this transformation takes great courage, great determination and commitment. Few among us would have the intestinal fortitude (guts, that is) to do so.

Porn however is not looked upon kindly by a large part of the population, and so, as far as that group might be concerned, shemales are just a part of that abominable industry that they wish to control or abolish. Therefore, in that situation, porn would really of no help whatsoever to the transgender population in trying to further their acceptance in the world community.

I will agree with you though, that if the public was to know more about this phenomenon they would become much more accepting of it. And yes, then more exposure through the media would help harvest that understanding, but unfortunately with the generally negative attitude of the masses, few girls would be likely be willing to risk exposing themselves to such disrespect, therefore they do avoid seeking publicity, preferring to avoid the scorn of many in society and therefore conceal the truth about themselves. Who could blame them? Thus, even if there was an opportunity to take a position in the media, I suspect that it would be unlikely that most transgendered would be willing to risk the potential negatives such a post could bring with it. A few of course, do take up the challenge and again, they deserve a lot of respect for their courage in doing so.
