How difficult is it to start your own studio/company?

I'm not interested in having my own production studio, but I've always been curious about what goes into it. How difficult is it to start your own, overall? I know that I've seen some people on this forum who state they are tired of seeing the same 2-3 guys in all of the video, so I'm guessing it must be something similar to Hollywood...exclusive and a circle of friends. I could be completely way off, though.

its the complete opposite of Hollywood - it has absolutely no barriers to entry at all. Anyone can do it. The problem is the knowledge, costs, location, and access to models.
