I treat this like a newly manufactured model of car. I never buy the first model year until all the recalls and glitches are out of the system for the next model year. As long as some of these side effects are happening, they can't force me to inject that shit in my body and restrict me from things without proof of vaccination. I've never had a flu shot (not comparing the two as the same) and I've never had the flu. I will take the same stance with this vaccine. Release another vaccine with less bullshit behind it and maybe...

I do my part with hand washing, masks, social distancing and following the restrictions put in place. If our provincial government did their part and put up heavier restrictions when things ballooned up to 700 cases a day instead of focusing on big box store shopping during the holiday season, we wouldn't be in the lockdown we are now. But that's another story...

I will get one as soon as I am eligible. Allergic reactions are common with vaccines its not something that bothers me. You may think I am nuts and Bill Gates will track me but I want to get back to travel and entering countries and vaccination will help with that. Its worth the risk to me.

Unless one is "anti medication" absolutely, its a bit hypocritcal to mistrust this one while eating Viagra or taking mental health meds or pain pills when injured. Just my two cents.

However, I do think the approach of treating it like a new model of car is reasonable. My dad thinks like that too. He figures by the time its his turn there will be 2 or 3 vaccines available and new releases, etc and he can make a choice.

If you don't need it for a job and don't want international travel; it's not a bad idea to just sit this one out. We don't need everyone vaccinated for it to make a difference in the population.

Where I do get worried, is once it is available to everyone will our PHO's lift restrictions or keep demanding bullshit just because. I can see where the anti tyrrany crowd can be mistrusting of that. I am taking a wait and see approach to their behavior once its out in the general populace. I will become an anti masker and anti restriction protestor if they keep restrictions in after its available at every corner Dr and Pharmacy like a flu shot.

This year has crushed my income, taken away a lot of my social interests and passions, and fucked over my sex life. I am working with the system for now but won't be so easy come summer time if they keep trying to restrict things.

If they allowed all drug stores and pretty much any store to sell cheap, accurate rapid tests I kinda see that as possibly better than the vaccine but all we hear about it is vaccine vaccine vaccine. Abbott made an accurate cheap rapid test and other companies too but why is it not available to all? life could be semi back to normal with inexpensive, accurate rapid tests. I see this as just another conspiracy as you dont hear any government saying we will get this in our drug stores any time soon. Then again why don't we have an accurate cheap fast at home test for STIs as well? how good would that be?

I'm under 45 so ... although I know its a serious illness I'm definitely sitting this one out. Canada has ordered almost double what they need to vaccinate the entire population so... I don't think it will be very hard to get. Once summer gets here the risk will be lower just like last year and by fall the majority of people will have been vaccinated and that means herd immunity.

This is where you are wrong my friend.
what kind of vaccine is this that you have to keep injecting unlimited doses, while you can never go back to normal?
You still can get Covid after vaccination, have to wear a mask, etc..

sorry bro, don't agree with you there. I will say this, if we still have restrictions after 70% of Canada has been vaccinated, then you will win me over into the protest crowd; because if the goal is zero deaths (impossible for any virus), then it will be time to take to the streets.

Are any of you that cry wolf medical experts? Do any of you have a degree in the sciences? Or deal with this kind of stuff? If not, then your opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. A lot of armchair quarterbacks that seem to know more than experts. Smh. See conspiracies where there are none. That is the tiring part in all of this.

They've gone too far! I just went to the pharmacy, two of them actually, and they wouldn't let me buy makeup! How the hell is hair dye in the essential products list but not makeup!!! I feel like throwing molotov cocktails on cop cars and fucking looting stuff

"Nothing about this virus is being reported truthfully, it is all shrouded in secrecy and lies."
If you believe this, how do you trust the information you are passing on to us?
I do believe some of the information. I do not believe all of the information.

You cannot catch HIV by someone breathing on you. An asymptomatic carrier of Covid can transmit it to you unknowingly.

Measles is WAY more contagious than Covid. MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) Vaccine is usually given to every child around 1 year old and a second dose 4-6 years old.
When >95% of population has been vaccinated or had measles in the past (natural immunity), there is almost no one around to catch measles from someone who has it.
When no one catches it, it doesn't spread. When it doesn't spread, there are almost no cases of measles. This is herd immunity. Infants before they are vaccinated are spared the risk of catching measles and dealing with the complications including death.
"In the decade before 1963 when a vaccine became available, nearly all children got measles by the time they were 15 years of age. It is estimated 3 to 4 million people in the United States were infected each year. Also each year, among reported cases, an estimated 400 to 500 people died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 1,000 suffered encephalitis (swelling of the brain) from measles." from the CDC. This is NATURAL herd immunity since the majority of people are immune from previous infection. Mortality rate 500/4,000,000 = 0.0001 = 0.01%. Flu mortality is generally thought to be around 0.1%.

"The actual death rate of Covid is similar to the flu, which has a vaccine. Stats show this to be true."

I disagree. What stats are you referring to?

                        US 350,000 deaths / 20,000,000 identified cases = 0.0175 = 1.75% population 332 million
                        Canada 15,715 deaths / 590,000 cases = 0.026 = 2.6% 38 million
                        UK 74,570 deaths / 2,599,789 cases = 0.028 = 2.8% 68 million
                        Japan 3,514 deaths / 238,012 cases = 0.014 = 1.4% 126 million
                        Australia 909 deaths / 28,470 cases = 0.032 = 3.2% 26 million

Disease Burden of Influenza | CDC

                        US flu in 2017-2018 (worse flu mortality in last decade) 61,000 deaths / 45,000,000 cases = 0.0014 = 0.14%

The flu also kills older, sicker people at a much higher rate than younger people. The numbers above are global numbers. I don't believe there is a conspiracy among all the doctors treating patients throughout the world lying to inflate Covid RELATED deaths.
When someone with cancer (heart disease/lung disease/any other disease) dies with flu, they are listed under flu related deaths.

The Covid related death rate is about 10 times the flu related death rate.

Make note of the total numbers too. Some countries did much better than others. Japan and UK are both compact islands but Japan uses masks liberally, even before Covid.

                          MASKS WORK!!!!!

They are not perfect, but they make a difference.
Guess what health care workers in Canada use to take care of Covid patients. MASKS.
Now obviously, N95 masks are much more effective at filtering aerosols and protecting the WEARER.
Covid can be transmitted by aerosols AND droplets.
Simple masks reduce spreading droplets and aerosols that could infect OTHER people.

High speed camera captures how different types of face masks work - YouTube

People can have mild or no symptoms but still have Covid and infect others.
That's why most essential workers have a problem with people who refuse to wear masks.
How can you tell if you have Covid if you have no symptoms.

Lockdowns are horrible. We should avoid them if possible.
They do work though. Every country that had a hard lockdown had a dropping of cases.
Intuitively it makes sense too. If you don't meet anyone, you can't spread it.
If people break the rules, then you have the damage of locking down without the benefit.

Oxygen supply shortages hurt hospitals overwhelmed by COVID-19 - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

If you don't increase mitigating measures, LA may end up like New York or northern Italy in the spring.
If everyone wore masks, washed hands frequently, avoid crowded gatherings, you might avoid having to use extreme measures.
When a large number of people ignore recommendations, it reduces the effect of controlling the spread of the virus.

I think you are giving China too much credit. They are not capable of designing such a masterful scheme. It is impossible to predict how the virus would spread and how it would evolve and mutate. I don't think our scientists and experts are so much worse than China's. We should have the expertise to control and limit the virus. What you can't control, is how people behave in a free society. Since many people don't believe the virus is a serious threat (to society), they don't treat it with the proper respect.
China hid the virus early on. Clearly that is wrong. I don't think it was by design but by officials trying to hide their failure.

China steals intellectual property. That is illegal.
I'm not sure how they are provoking unrest and political correctness. I think western countries do that fine by ourselves.
How are they buying our elections and taking over our educational institutions? Do you mean Trudeau? Ford? Biden?
The universities like Chinese international students because they charge them more tuition (about four times).

In his 2018 article, Canada’s growing reliance on international students, Alex Usher, President of Higher Education Strategy Associates, a consulting firm based in Toronto, explains that “fees for international students, which average about four times what domestic students pay, now equal 12 percent of operating revenue and 35 percent of all fees collected by institutions, and these proportions continue to climb. Already some major institutions, including the University of Toronto, are receiving more money from international students than they get in operating grants from their provincial governments.

That's not China taking over, that's the result of choices by the Universities and provincial governments.

"China's leaders could care less how many of their citizens die."

I totally agree. It is what it is.
